I think it's more than that. Seems to me they are talking about a dead or dying relationship, it does not work anymore, they loved each other. The singer feels a huge void in their heart "no one lives there anymore". The definition of being in love with that person doesn't fit either, it's more of a need. She feels the need of companionship, they can't be friends because of everything that happened and he or she knows that things are way to messed up to get back together, but still "cause it's cold outside, when you coming home cause it's hot inside, isn't that enough" The moment they get together and stop thinking about the past, that moment feels right, he or she doesn't want anything else. "Isn't that enough", I think it expresses that her need is fulfilled, that warmth is given to each other when they are 'together', not sure if it involves a sexual thing... That's just my own interpretation. |

Didn't you see the usage of this beautiful song in Grey's Anatomy? SPOILS COMING This was in season two. There was an accident with a train or something like that, and there were two people with a pole stuck through their body (in the area of their stomages, sort of). They were a young woman and a middle-age man (they weren't a couple). The doctors couldn't take it out from neither of them because taking out the pole meant that their organs would move around and they would bleed out to death. So they had to chose between one of them. After doing some tests they found out that the young woman was the one more damaged, and they decided to talk to them and convince the woman to be the one to literally die. She accepted, the man refused at first but she convinced him (he said: it's not fair, but she said: it's not fair either way). She told the doctor to say something to her boyfriend when he'd arrived (they could have waited for him to get there but the more time the pole was in there, less were the chances to save the man). So as they started to proceed the song was played, (there were also other plots about it, but I think this was the most important of the night). |

| I think it's one of my favorites. Yes, It is. I love the way she describes something that happens very often in our lives. They're "tapes", not just because they are lines that are not of our own and they're 'playing' in our heads, but also because they are very common frases. | |

| I didn't finish to read all the comments about the song, but I think you're not hitting the jachpot. I think it's about a relationship that CLEARLY it's not meant to be, so the woman decides to stop any kind of contact with the man, BUT, she is straying from what she promised herself: "I feel a weakness coming on.", which means: Oh no, i'm falling in the same vicious circle again... How does this start? when she says she'll keep his number for a rainy day, that clearly changes what she PLANNED to do, and then she feels the weakness again and she feels like she CAN'T keep it like that (Although she knows is best to let him go... go away from him, it doesn't have to be about CHEATING on someone else) because she WILL get hurt, so she says: "let's be friends", and some things lead to others and you know what happened when "THE WEAKNESS" came... lol... it's so clear.. | |

Mmmm... I think it's about the songwriter (Sara), ending up wih a relationship that she must have ended but then realizing that even though it was the best choice (maybe because there weren't good togehter or the didn't work), she stills misses the person and she cannot let her go... supposing it's a love relationship.. it's like she wants to go back to te relationship but she knows that she shouldn't and now there's no point coming back because things have changed... what do uthink? |
