I totally agree with you, AlexaG. You said it wonderfully.
In the last verse he offers to leave his current partner for the woman he's having an affair with, but ultimately admits that she cannot make him as happy as his current partner can.
This is a song you're meant to feel.

I think this song is about a girl who is secretly in love with someone but is terribly shy and is afraid to let them know.. even though her actions seem to be quite obvious. Thought, I'm sure the song could be interpreted a number of ways.

This song is absolutely perfect. I cry EVERY TIME I hear it. It was the song that played as I walked down the aisle at my wedding.

It also says on the Wikipedia page for the Golden Gate Bridge that the song is linked to the bridge.

"The Golden Gate Suicides are the topic of a song by indie rock trio Sleater-Kinney. The song is called "Jumpers," and it appears on the album The Woods."

Not saying that this is where the idea for the song came from, but I read this recently, and it made me think of this song immediately.

"On December 17, 2001, fourteen-year-old Marissa Imrie, a petite and attractive straight-A student who had planned to become a psychiatrist, left her second-period class at Santa Rosa High School, took a hundredand-fifty-dollar taxi ride to the Golden Gate, and jumped to her death."
