To me it's Obvious that this is about getting a Major Label record deal. They thought Memphis Record Co's were attacking them. Knowing they are out in the audience scouting then was horrible, and the execs telling the band to stop looking for a better deal and go with them. He had crappy part time Jobs, but held out for the best match. Chorus: Sometimes he thinks he'll find a record company that will make him change his mind and not long for someone better.
