| Platinum Weird – Taking Chances Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song is about someone needing another human being. And it doesn't matter if it's just for one night, that's enough. That one night could be eternity for all they care. Also, it's about "taking chances" and making life all it can be. No matter what happens, you need to take that leap of faith and go with it. Who knows, it might be fun. | |

You are calm and reposed, let your beauty unfold. Pale white like the skin stretched over your bones. Spring keeps you ever close, you are second hand smoke. You are so fragile and thin, standing trial for your sins. Holding onto yourself the best you can. You are the smell before rain, you are the blood in my veins. ^That part in the song is so amazing it isn't even funny. You can hear the anger or the hate or the pity but then, by the end when Jesse sings, "You are the smell before rain, you are the blood in my veins." you hear how weak he gets; how even through what she is apparently going through, he still loves her. I believe that this entire song is based on her being the "bad guy" and not Jesse. How she's telling him how pathetic he is or how he needs to start acting more mature. But, really, it's she who needs to work on the mature thing. She needs to get a hold of herself or she'll just disappear. She needs to stop hating everything and stop being so sad or depressed. She doesn't know him, she doesn't want to. She just wants the attention. Or, maybe she does want to know him but she won't let herself. If she's the way she is b/c of something in her past or something he did, he wants her to forget it but mostly he wants her to move on. He would do anything for her to be happy, "If it makes you less sad I will die by your hand." and then, "I hope you find out what you are, already know what I am." See, he knows where he's going. She, on the other hand, does not. He wishes her the best, as bitchy as she was during their relationship =P. But really, I think that that's what the song is about. How one person can bring the other person down to a point we're you need to break it off but you still might love that person and you still might want to help them but you can't. I think that after it was over or before it was over, he would call or hang out with her and they would talk and that's what the line, "It's cold as a tomb and its dark in your room when I sneak to your bed to pour salt on your wounds." it's like he's there but not and they're discussing things she doesn't like. Idk, truly it's just something I see in the song. |
