| Vienna Teng – Mission Street Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Well, as it happens, Vienna herself used to live in an apartment on Mission street, In the mission area, which runs along market street, In Rainy city of San francisco. You could practically Take it to get to City hall. To me, this is a song i haven't heard too many times, and though probably not the song i have heard the least, i remember it a lot seemingly less. Anyway i didn't want to disapoint with a lackluster Meaning. |

If i am not terribly mistaken, this song was orignally about a superhero in some futuristic tokyo seeing a picture fall out of his wallet of his family back home, and misses them. I know thats a little weird, and i am not certain where i heard that, but eventually Vienna realized it was about her leaving Cisco for her music career. at one point i though the line "If my love could keep you alive was about a person next to someone in a hospital bed of a comatose and/or vegitative state who hasn't totally given up hope. Vienna teng is such a beautiful pianist. |

| I think That I would like to stress the line, "I can see what i destroy, sweet reflection knife into me" which if taken seperatly says i've seen what i've done and i am stabbing myself over it, but more poetically she is seeing what see destroys, in her reflection, herself. | |

"My friend Carolyn came back from babysitting one evening with a rolled-up sheet of paper in her hand. It was a crayon drawing of a child tucked into bed, watching rain pelt at the window as a grownup sat nearby -- Lullabye For A Stormy Night, she explained. She'd played a preliminary recording for the kids, and after listening avidly several times through one little girl had decided to draw a picture of it for me. The girl's name is Anna Rose. To this day I've never met her." word's from vienna herself from her old web site. |

| Vienna Teng – Shasta (Carrie's Song) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This song manages to cited a "ficticious" example of a person having an abortion,(or at least the confusion over it) without going all political. | |

a song about what if when you die rather than moving on, you watch as, though your life did have meaning, and you see your family mourning, you also see them moving on. the very last line is so sudden its like the intial car crash that got her there in the first place. there is something to be said when you write a song about your death and how everyone else moved on, AND it still isn't the most sad song you've written. I'm sorry, melancholy. nice word , melancholy. Her d4eaqth wasn't so horribly significant, while yes her lover was broken, her mother cried and her sister was more than a lttle upset, so what if she didn't run iinto a burning building. no self loathing, no tears. But she still stoicly looks upon her tree, and that immpossibilty of her fate with newer safty devices. |
