Conor Oberst – Lenders in the Temple Lyrics 15 years ago
As many of you have stated, this song is full of religious references. The line about the "circus tiger" is a direct reference to the book "Life of Pi". The book takes place in three parts, and deals heavily with religion in one of them, as Pi (the main character) follows three different religions by the age of 14: Hinduism, Christianity, and Islam. In another part of the book, he is stranded on a boat in the middle of the ocean for 227 days with a circus tiger. When they finally hit land, the circus tiger gets off the boat, looks back at Pi, and walks away.

Manchester Orchestra – I Can Feel a Hot One Lyrics 17 years ago
i have no idea what this song means...though i like some of your interpretations, but manna is definitly not referring to an actual drug. it's a metaphor.

as for "my teeth ripping out of my head" he's referring to a very big smile.

Copeland – When You Thought You'd Never Stand Out Lyrics 18 years ago
like many of you said, it's about his childhood and how he didn't fit in. like many of you also said, it's about that one person who was always there for him, and didn't care how much of an outcast he was. what all of you failed to realize, is that person, is his mother.
