Becuase the Turk name or the Araks River is Aras., and it flows through Armenia I think this song may be about the Armenian Genocide. All of System of a down come from Armenian decent so it would make perfect harmony for them to sing about thier people and what happened to them in 1915. The people may have tried to flee in the 600 mile river to the Caspien Sea or Kura River. The Genocide started from a Turk government ordering 250 Armenians to be captured in the capitol of Constantinople. Soon the government forced homes to be uprooted and marched them to concentration camps. They were deprived of food and water and subjected to sexual abuse and rape from soldiers. In short the gebocide was started by disloyalty. Countless people died. If I was from Armenian heritage and had the abilitie to, I would right a song about these acts. Im sure that this story and song affected all of System of a Down deeply. |

It could be about a person that is about or has already died and is coming alive again in the eyes of christ (Breathe for the first time now
I came alive somehow) this kinda makes me think that when you die the breath of christ will come in you and you will feel more alive than you ever have before. Great song, Rock on Skillet! |
