| David Gilmour – There's No Way Out of Here Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The chorus should read: “And never was there an answer, there an answer…” Such a beautiful song, it has meant more to me as I’ve grown older, as does his track “Short and Sweet”, both melancholy songs of living life and it’s experiences and questions unanswered. Over time these gems have aged like fine wine…and so with that I think I’ll go pour a glass and spin this album off vintage vinyl…how sweet it is! |

Ok ARCX, your right...gimme a sec and I'll fix this right up... It has been said that pulling on yer pud can have a profound effect on the mind if done properly. Though I myself do not condone the use of hand lotion or furry gloves, I'd be a hypocrite not to admit, that in my own experience, that once or twice I've used live hamsters and it had been very good for my soul!!! |

I saw L&R on this tour in San Francisco in the mid eighties, it was my first venture into something other than metal at the time, it was fucking incredible, they were so great then… As for the meaning, I believe that, yes, it’s about attending a rock show at a young age, maybe a first and how it changes you forever. There’s definitely a sexual charge in the air at shows, so many beautiful people movin’ and groovin’ in the heat, the loud volume, smoke filled air and the colored lights as they strobe through darkness and then the girl or guy you’ve been checkin’ out all night goes just as crazy as you do when the band finally starts playing your favorite song, you share a smile and move closer and maybe more…ah, sweet memories! It seems that all the other lyric sites out there have done the same slaughter job to the last verse… I don’t know why, those words have always been clear as day for me, go figure… Ok, this is correct... Put all down to chemistry Put it all down to the heat The seminal spark of sexuality Put it all down to the beat There was magic in the air on a Saturday night It was tragic, it's there on the street The quicksilver stud and the warm jets Make your leopard-skin dream complete Intrigued by alcove whispers So you tore off your old good tie Fascination found in strangeness And your sister's alien sigh Your sister's alien sigh Put all down to chemistry Put it all down to the heat The seminal spark of sexuality Put it all down to the beat To awake on Sunday morning With a rubber stamp blue tattoo Still there on the back of your skinny white hand Souvenir of the brave and the new Souvenir of the brave and the new It's the seventh dream of teenage heaven |

Jon Anderson inspired by the Discovery Channel, HA! Too funny, inpraiseoffolly! Discovery Channel launched in 1985, 13 years after Fragile was released! I once rather enjoyed playing this track over the "Pass of Caradhras" segment of the Fellowship of the Ring movie, nice fit, not very relevant, but looked cool! This track has always worked better than my air conditioner on a hot day, try it sometime! Just remember to play it loud enough to bring around them goose bumps! |

| Grizzly Bear – Two Weeks Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| I don’t want to get into a “is hip hop really original music” argument/discussion with anyone here but these guys created a fucking great song. Especially the lyrics, I hate songs that have to spell it all out for you…they also played their own instruments! Hardly ever have I seen anything outside of samplers and turntables at a hip hop recording session. Ya just can’t write off this track because it sound like Still D.R.E., ‘cause Still D.R.E. sounds like a hundred other songs…better songs! | |
| Grizzly Bear – Two Weeks Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Yes, a similar keyboard sound and tempo but what we must remember is that the Dre song uses samples and loops even older music just like most hip hop artists. This will have no effect on either group… | |

| It has been said that the use of psychoanalytical drugs can have a profound effect on the mind if used properly. Though I myself do not condone the use of illegal drugs such as LSD (acid) and psilocybin (mushrooms), I’d be a hypocrite not to admit, that in my own experience, the “once or twice” use of them had been very “good for my soul”. | |
| Rooney – Sleep Song Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| This track is so great, I can't seem to play it loud enough! It's also much darker than most Rooney stuff. I search the imdb postings to find out who did the song after watching the chumscrubber and was lucky to find that the band had offered it as a free download at their website for a while but then pulled it. You can find it now on the itunes version of the Calling The World album though you have to buy the whole album. It was worth ten bucks to me and I've never regretted buying it! The words make me think of times when I wanted to return to dream that I was awoken from but couldn't fall back asleep to find it again because I was just on the edge of understanding the dreams meaning, so frustrating... | |
| Midlake – Roscoe Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Roscoe is just one piece of the greater Van Occupanther puzzle, all the songs on this record seem to reference one another, it’s quite a trip…this band has a great future ahead of itself if they keep this up! | |
| Roger Waters – 4.50 AM (Go Fishing) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think the lyric’s speak for themselves though after many listens to this and other PF records, myself and others have found many musical secrets within the song that make many references to his other songs. The purpose of this is to manipulate our emotions like with a film score, only using the Pink Floyd catalog for reference…for instance, after Roger delivers the line “go fishing, my boy” he then invites us to draw clues from short musical refrain’s: The first one comes from The Fletcher Memorial “The Fletcher Memorial home for incurable…, etc.” Then the next is from Your Possible Past “Do you remember me? how we used to be? do you think we should be closer?” Both are from The Final Cut album, another record riddled with connections… Then, during and after the bit when he’s lighting a joint while reading to the kid’s about Eeyore and then again at the end; “And so...leaving all our hopes and dreams to the wind and the rain...” we hear the crashing climax refrain from In The Flesh? From The Wall…What it all means, I don’t know, but after all these years it still makes my hair stand on end!!! I’ve always thought that The Wall, The Final Cut and The Pros & Cons of Hitchhiking were all very connected and would have mad a great massive rock opera! |
