| I always saw this song (and I'm probably completely wrong) as the story of an, like, "untold" character from Cinderella. Like, maybe the Prince danced with another girl and maybe fell in love with her, but in the end, the slipper didn't fit her so he married Cinderella because it was her slipper. There are just certain lines that have a kind of a longing connotation to me. I'm just too lazy to point them out. | |

| What I don't understand is that, Rob Zombie obviously has a really good knowledge of the book (because he does quote it directly "Skorry as a shot came sickness"), and yet he uses the word "horrorshow" as a noun in this song when it was an adjective in the book. Regardless, I love Rob Zombie, all of this music, all of his films and...just everything about him. | |

So I guess I'm the only one who takes the song title literally and interprets this as just a vague re-telling of Dante's Divine Comedy? I think that it makes a lot more sense than some other things that people have posted here. Dante was in the woods, contemplating suicide when Virgil took him through Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. (First two verses) In the ninth circle of Hell (which housed traitors and Lucifer), they were all submerged in ice. Going through Purgatory, which was described as a mountain, Dante had to be cleansed of the 'seven deadly sins', and the last one required walking through a wall of fire. (Third verse) Well, it makes sense to me... |
