| CF Riot has an interesting theory. And he could be right, all they say on the website is it's about a series of murders that happened in some nice ass neighborhood. But there's obviously a lot more to it. But it is possible he took a hatchet to her. Cut her open, and then burned her.. | |

" Call me a temptress. Call me a whore. That's just a price tag. I'm not for sale. Don't be so obvious, it's so unnattractive, you know. " That whole bit is about how she's a prostitute. "You're singing in your sleep. This won't feel right at all in the morning." He slit her throat in her sleep.. "Well, God blessed me with good taste." I'm guessing he has good taste in the women he kills. But I don't get this.. The shadows come from under the ground, they sweep you off your feet. As soon as the sun sets, the fucking earth sinks. Shadows arive when the sun sets.. I don't get the whole earth sinks part.. |

Saylor Lake is a fictional story.. and so far the site only explains the actual murder. we're trying to find out the truths behind all this. I know I am at least.. This is clearly about a girl who saw him like dating, and gave him a key to her aparment. Then stopped seeing him, maybe broke up or just ignored him.. It sounds like revenge. " You love her, you love her, you love her. No you don't. You're better, you're bitter, you're better off without. You love her. You'll never leave her." That could either be him talking to himself, or the boy that was in the girls apartment. That's about as much as I can explain.. |

And I scream, and nobody listens. And I scream, yet everyone's louder. Maybe he's trying to tell people it's him, but no one will listen, there seems to be a lot of commotion because of these murders. In this desperate night we were all wearing costume. In "It's Pretty Hard To Beat The King" he mentions wearing a suit. Maybe others are trying to say they're the killer as well as him so no one believes him.. |

| Maybe he thinks he's Jesse James? As for "I own the night life". No one goes out at night because of him, their too scarred. So I get that part. The rest of that doesn't make too much sense. He mentions "we" sometimes so he's either a skitso or theres more than one killer? Possibly a wife type figure. | |

| I think now he's coming to realize this is not what he wanted. But he's still trying to pull it all off. | |

| Also, it seems like whenever there's actual quotes in the lyrics he's talking to the victim. | |

It never said it was always a girl or just 1 person for every murder though.. But theres 12 murders and 12 tracks so it's the only thing that makes sense. |

javier it seems your pretty much right. in almost all the songs he mentions seeing himself in her.. i'm not quite sure what that means yet. maybe he's a skitso? |

Yeah I agree Alex. It almost seems like he's talking to himself.. You think I'm a killer. You think these eyes belong to a murderer. Pass judgement fast, Cause that's the last look you'll get. Maybe he's a skitso? I'm thinking also, maybe he's realizing what an uproar he's causing. Like on the album cover, when he's sitting at a desk looking at all the news headlines. Maybe he wants to stop so he cries Help. |

I think each victim is a girl he thinks he's saving by killing. In most of the songs he talks about saving/killing but in this one he say he cant save her.. interesting.. I'm not positive but theres a chance he could be a skitso, almost like in the movie Mr. Brooks where the killer kills with his imaginary friend. But in this scenario the other killer is a wife or girlfriend of some sort.. |

Just putting together my own idea from what I've heard. I'd say it went like this.. The victim was at a bar, met a guy(the murderer). She was seen leaving the bar around 2 a.m. and maybe she wen't home a little drunk. And couldn't help but laugh, and her father(the pastor) tied up her hands and left her in a cellar(in Owens Memorial Park) and as he did she begged for her life. And the guy she met at the bar saw all this, and came to save her so he broke into the park maintance shed, which could be the cellar her father locked her in. Also I'd say she wasn't a very good girl, just by the way the killer talks about her. Maybe he saw her as a devil by her behavoir. He took her almost like a hero. Gave her a wedding ring and silver wedding band before drugging her. And then he hung her.. I could be wrong, theres a few things in the lyrics that I'd like help on.. such as who's "we"? "And we dared to admit her weakness was laughter" "We watched it end" When he asked did you miss me? That must mean they knew eachother from before. "She's breaking out and they're all laughing now. Behind your devilish figure, behold the smoking gun." Who's all laughing? I was thinking maybe he took her out of the cellar and people would be laughing at her but that doesn't make sense.. Oh and I think he sees himself in all these people he murders, and he sees what he hates so he kills them.. I don't know clue me in. |
