I don't think the song is only about being overlooked. we all get overlooked or passed by every day, not in a malicoius or harmful way. I think the song is about unrequited love. you look at the person and see them for who they are, even if you throw someone the obvious, it doesn't mean that they will love you in return. the 3 libras are also mainly concerned with sex, if not prostitutes themselves, and would not care if someone was in love with who they are. because the singer isn't what she wants for sex she doesn't even know he's there. he keeps trying to get her attention, until he finds that she is empty. |

I believe that or lives can parallel fairy tales. what i think the song is about is a defeated prince charming. He is so arrogant that he is blinded to the fact that she is sleeping. he cant make her love him. but she is poisoned, to hurt, intraverted, withdrawn that in spite of everything he is going to fail. i was delusional once, and failed, that's why i connect so well to this song. |

As a member of the military, i would have to agree that his military experience has something to do with this song, but it can be applied to almost anything. it was something i noticed in advanced training. Our superiors would go on and on about how they were there for us and cared about us. When in fact all that they cared about was the facade. Getting us to be good little soldiers and get a good evaluation reports. now as a leader i have been taught to go out in front and lead, make others follow. When you first get in the military you see the leaders and want to identify with them, be like them. and then you realize its all bullshit. |

To me the song is about saying goodbye to a lover(woman). Woman being represented by the snake, (a connection to genisis of course). He's talking about how bad that the snake could have hurt him. And how the fact that he will only suffer more if he doesn't move on and open up, become vulnerable,(for another snake bite). Some woman talking to him, hurting him, not leaving him alone. So he has to kill the snake(woman,love) and destroy his mind block to become vulnerable again. |
