Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This isn't the last track on Folie a Deux and Fall Out Boy don't seem to be implying they're breaking up any time soon. That's what throws me off with this song. I cry whenever I hear it. XD |
Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I can see this being a sway kind of song. I cry always at it. It's definitely a "goodbye"/"end of something beautiful" kind of song. XD |
Fall Out Boy – What a Catch, Donnie Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Indeed epic. It's such a beautiful song, it makes me cry. Especially hearing all their other songs in the chorus with cameo appearances from other artists. It feel like they're about to break up. Oh, god I hope not! I think it might be one of those "looking back on the good times" kind of songs kind of like "Lake Effect Kid" but much more emotional. XD |
Fall Out Boy – Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown on a Bad Bet Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow this is amazing. I definitely like it more than "I Don't Care". I though I'd hate it but it has such an awesome melody that pumps its way into my head and Pete delivers very witty and meaningful lyrics again. I do have to rate his lyrics (as much as I don't like him) but Patrick's music -- wow. Winning combination. It's amazing. I agree it's probably about the deception of having an affair. It seems like the speaker is the person the woman is having an affair with and as much as he hates being a "footnote", he enjoys the heat that forbidden love brings. I'd say from lines like "peroxide princess" and "gleam" and "wedding band" that the wife is very superficial about her marriage and doesn't care for her husband -- maybe she doesn't care for the guy she's having an affair with either. "Keep a calender, this way you will always know" seems to be a blunt way of saying how she's "fitting him" around her life. She seems to be messing with his feelings as well as that of her husband and the speaker seems to resent her for it, however he can't rate himself much better. That's what I got from it. It's awesome however you interpret it. XD |
Fall Out Boy – Lake Effect Kid Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yep I agree with omegalomaniac (luff ALPHAdog... btw) and hobo62 on the changes. You guys got most of the meanin figured out anyway. Luff this. XD |
Fall Out Boy – Hand of God Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow. For ages I had the lyrics to this so messed up. I didn't really like this song but it's seriously growing on me. I had it under the wrong title for ages too :-S. But now I fully get the lyrics, it's amazing! Some of FOB's best lyrics! XD |
Fall Out Boy – Lake Effect Kid (Demo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yep, pocketofdeadliness is right on the meaning lol. Love the name :-P This song grew on me. I really like it because you can sort of tell how they're remembering their youth. It's really reminiscent and different from a lot of their stuff. I like it. XD |
Hey Monday – Homecoming Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I heard this on the CitizensFOB mixtape and loved it. I fell in love with the lead singer's voice and this is catchy as hell. They do sound a little like Paramore but although I hate to say it her voice reminds me somewhat of maybe a Disney star? :-S I hate to say, I really do. I love their sound, I'm not saying it's a bad thing. That's just my first impressions. I'll keep my eye on these guys, they seem pretty darn awesome. XD |
Paramore – For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song describes exactly what happened to me and my band. It's quite ironic, this was one of my favorite songs when I joined and I did a Paramore song as an audition. I think this is about betrayal, getting stabbed in the back by someone you care about and you thought cared about you. I guess this is probably about a boyfriend, but for me it was getting stabbed in the back by my closest guy friend and band member. It's so painful. The lyrics and melody definitely portray power and energetic anger that they feel. The bridge is probably my favorite bit; it just completely sums up the situation for me. Very effective lyrics, I can't believe how well this song fits to my situation. It wasn't a nice place to be. :-( Anyways, awesome song. XD |
Cobra Starship – Guilty Pleasure Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love the way Cobra Starship don't take everything too seriously. They are very funny especially in interviews and stuff. I love their attitude. Of course I love Patrick Stump's vocals on this too. For some reason the guitar in the verses kind of reminds me of Fall Out Boy's songs, probably because Stump co-produced it. I like that sound. This song is awesome! ^^ |
Gym Class Heroes – Faces In The Hall Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song really moved me the first time I heard it. Now I know all the lyrics it moves me to tears. I always find myself making up backing vocal parts to this -- it just comes from the heart. This was written with a lot of passion about just two tragic stories of young people's lives being cut short. The chorus I think is encouraging people not to give into peer pressure. Very emotive. |
Fall Out Boy – Yule Shoot Your Eye Out Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I still luff it! Especially the end bit LMAO. I think I found my new Christmas anthem lol. ^^ |
Panic! at the Disco – Nails For Breakfast, Tacks For Snacks Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I thought this song might have been about Ryan's dad. I know he is behind a lot of their lyrics and expresses the pain and deep emotion he felt towards his dad's problems. It might just be that I have the "other" version of the song, the slower more reflective one (although I can't actually remember how the other version that most people prefer goes), but for me the lyrics are slightly different. They go like this: Watch you mouth Your speech is slurred enough That you might swallow your tongue You want to give up the ghost With a little poise than that? Or was it God that chokes in these situations? Running late No no He called in, he called in The hospice is A relaxing weekend getaway We are a cut above all the rest Sick and sad patients On first name basis With all the top physicians... Prescribe pills To offset the shakes To offset the pills You know you should Take it a day at a time That's when you stutter something profound To the support on the line And with the way you been talking Every word gives you a sense on certain pain (it might be a step closer to hell, but it doesn't sound like it to me) No I just can't help it to say what everyone else is thinking Let me, state the obvious again Prescribe pills To offset the shakes To offset the pills You know you should Take it a day at a time x2 I am alone bed, house and head And she never fixes this But at least she... I am alone in this bedroom (or bed ooh) She never fixes that, but at least she...makes me forget Chorus Maybe I'm just going a bit mad lol. I dunno if I'm hearing things that aren't actually in the lyrics. :-S Can anyone help me reclaim my sanity? I luff this song anyhow. It really calms down for some reason. :-) |
Christina Vidal – Take Me Away Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Very gritty Defo about rebellion to me. I luff this song, had to do it to audition for my band. Guitar solo -- Lindsay Lohan, right? Kicks ass. ^^ |
Velvet Revolver – Slither Lyrics | 15 years ago |
My band are gonna cover this song. It is soooo amazing. Our guitarist loves Slash and I only pray we can do it justice. Legend. I love it. ^^ |
Bowling for Soup – Punk Rock 101 Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song cracks me up. Not really sure what genre BFS classify themselves as but I luff this song even though I do quite like Punk Rock music haha. I love the way the lyrics are pretty blunt, that's what makes it so funny whilst others songs dissing "scene" or music genres have lots of metaphors lol. Awesom song. The "living on a prayer...did you just say that?" is my fav part. ^^ |
Gym Class Heroes – The Queen and I Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow this song reminds me of one of my close friends. She's a pretty strong drinker and she gets guys to think like this when they're with her. Even though she doesn't do anyone any good she still has an infectious personality which makes you love her. -- She woke up in a bathtub in some random person's house one time! This song is awesome. ^^ |
Mindless Self Indulgence – Shut Me Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I always thought the "knock me up" bit was "fuck me up". Seems to make more sense to me. :-/ |
Paramore – Crushcrushcrush Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I got a lot to say to you Yeah, I got a lot to say I noticed your eyes Are always glued to me Keeping them here And it makes no sense at all (A boy and a girl teasing each other) They taped over your mouth Scribbled out the truth with their lies You little spies (x2) (They can't trust each other/deception) Crush Crush Crush Crush, crush (Two, three, four!) Nothing compares to A quiet evening alone Just the one, two of us (They can't stay away from each other) Who's counting on That never happens I guess I'm dreaming again Let's be more than this If you wanna play it like a game Well, come on, come on, let's play 'Cause I'd rather waste my life pretending Than have to forget you For one whole minute (She's prepared to have a fling rather than a proper relationship because its so good) They taped over your mouth Scribbled out the truth with their lies You little spies (x2) Crush Crush Crush Crush, crush (Two, three, four!) Nothing compares to A quiet evening alone Just the one, two of us Who's counting on That never happens I guess I'm dreaming again Let's be more than this now Rock and roll, baby Don't you know that we're all alone now? I need something to sing about Rock and roll, hey Don't you know, baby, we're all alone now? I need something to sing about Rock and roll, hey Don't you know, baby, we're all alone now? Give me something to sing about (Umm probably sex or the lust they feel) Nothing compares to A quiet evening alone Just the one, two of us Who's counting on That never happens I guess I'm dreaming again Let's be more than No, oh Nothing compares to A quiet evening alone Just the one, two of us Who's counting on That never happens I guess I'm dreaming again Let's be more than More than this I love the whole: "rock and roll baby" bit, my fav bit. It always reminds me of a piss take article I saw on Paramore or "Parawhore" they renamed it lol (dw, I love Paramore but it was hilarious) with a quote saying: "Rock and roll, baby Don't you know that we're all alone now? I need something to sing about" - Hayley Williams "I'll give her something to sing about!" - every teen male on Hayley Williams Hahaha hilarious. I have a love/hate relationship with this song and That's What You Get. I do love nearly every Paramore song tho, Riot! more than All We Know Is Falling but I like them both. Awesomeness. ^^ |
Fall Out Boy – Reinventing the Wheel to Run Myself Over Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song, I can really relate to it. Having a lot at stake and being so close to success but with failure threatening you. I love the bit at the end after the song finishes where Pete (I think) goes into the: "You have to prove yourself" back up vocal bit again and everyone starts laughing. I dunno why, makes it more real. ^^ Awesome song. |
Mindless Self Indulgence – Shut Me Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This is the only song I think I really like by MSI. I love the little whipping noises, they make the song for me. Fav line: "I like my coffee black just like my metal". I thought about doing a very different cheerleading routine to this, I dunno like "evil cheerleaders" lol I think it would work really well but be very different to most routines (which could be an advantage). I think it might be about control so I think the whole censorship idea is probably right and basically they're saying "Fuck you" to people trying to make them "respectable" and "acceptable" because they never will be. They're quite controversial and they do things how they want, that's how they like it, regardless of what anyone else thinks. My take on this funny/awesome song. I'm gonna go look at the video now! ^^ |
Nirvana – Lithium Lyrics | 15 years ago |
An awesome song. I totally understand the meaning now. As someone who lives with a disagnosed bi-polar Dad (although I believe this to be incorrect), this song conjures up a lot of emotion for me but I can relate to the lyrics. What can I say, Nirvana are legend. Amazing. ^^ |
The Cab – I'm a Wonder Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Amazing song. To me it seems to be about a celebrity/paparazzi relationship rather than a boy/girl relationship. It seems that way to me anyways. Does Patrick sing on this song as well? I swear I can hear him on the last chorus doing the held on bit: "Keep those tape a roll-i-i-i-i-ing"? Hmm, awesome song anyways! I can't believe how unknown this band is. I love them from the beginning. Can't wait for more from them. ^^ |
The Hush Sound – Don't Wake Me Up Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I didn't realise how sad this song was until I looked up the lyrics. First song I ever heard by them and I love it! I didn't realise Patrick Stump sang it in but apparently he co-produced Like Vines. Such a beautiful but catchy song, I can totally understand it with the whole Eileen thing. Greta has an amazing voice, I don't even know what iti is it's just really soothing. Awesome song! ^ |
Fall Out Boy – Snitches and Talkers Get Stitches and Walkers Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song just grew on me sooo much. I absolutely adore it. I loved it from the moment I heard it and that adoration just grew ^^. I think it's about young kids trying to get into the music business or maybe a reflection of Pete in the past and an "innocent" and "naiive" image he doesn't like. It's so fast and angry, pretty violent imagery too, but it really makes an impact. Immensely witty and catchy. One of my top favs from the band I love. ^^ |
My Chemical Romance – Cemetery Drive Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love the first verse, especially the line: "And they found you on the bathroom floor". I'm not sure if its about a traumatic break-up or a literal death of a friend. It sounds more like the "death" of a relationship than a physical death. That's my opinion anyway. ^^ |
Cobra Starship – The Church Of Hot Addiction Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love the bit: "I'm waiting, I'm waiting. Turn out the lights". I can't believe how unheard of Cobra Starship seem to be. I mean, there are hardly any comments on any of their songs. They rock. I need to promote them to all my friends lol. Still, I quite like not everyone knowing them. Very catchy. I'm not rele sure on the meaning, maybe its just them saying how great they are lol? Still, catchy as hell. ^^ |
Cobra Starship – Damn, You Look Good and I'm Drunk (Scandalous) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This song is hilarious. I luff Cobra Starship. Me and my mum always do the VIP Party Boys part and I'm trying to get my bff to learn it lol. Not particularly hard story, just one of those flirty girls Gabe meets at a party and he's thinking: "should I, shouldn't I?". I know a guy like the girl in this song lol. It's fun being friends with him. Hilarious. ^^ |
Fall Out Boy – Dance, Dance (Demo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I found it. I love it. Paddy's voice is very breathy and raspy on this version. I like the hand clapping and the dark undertones of it. I do like both versions but the extra verse and other bits make me like this version more because I haven't heard it as much. So glad I found out about this. ^^ |
Paramore – Let the Flames Begin Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song. I always thought it might have religious meaning but couldn't really put my finger on it. It is definitely about determination, for sure. But rockstar_reaction summed it up for me. Beautiful explanation and I agree; its kind of rebellion, independace. Very inspiring song.
Paramore – We Are Broken Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I always thought this had religious symbolism, them beings Christians but not really advertising it. Such as: "we are broken" perhaps referring to mankind, "what must we do to restore our innocence" perhaps a reference to the Creation story, "give us life again, cause we just wanna be whole", salvation. "Keep me safe inside your arms like towers, tower over me", God's protection, "i'll take the truth at any cost", Bible, religious texts? It makes sense to me. A beautiful song. ^^ |
My Chemical Romance – Mama Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song. ^^ I'm not quite sure what it's about, it seems quite sinister. At first I thought it was about an argument between Gerard Way and his mother but I think I agree with your guys' suggestions about war. It fits. Awesome song. ^^ |
Fall Out Boy – Yule Shoot Your Eye Out Lyrics | 15 years ago |
This kicks ass. I can't find out what album it was from though? |
Fall Out Boy – Honorable Mention Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow the whole "in the movie of my life starring you instead of me" sounds like I lyric I wrote waaayy before I became a FOB fan. I discovered that I wrote a song called Dead On Arrival and another about Courtney Love & Kurt Cobain (similar to The Take Over, The Breaks Over) wwayyyy before I liked FOB or heard these songs. Kinda freaky really but cool lyrics. ^^ |
Fall Out Boy – Dance, Dance (Demo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Ah I can't find this song. Does it have another name? |
Fall Out Boy – Dance, Dance (Demo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Arrgghhh! I had no idea about this version. I love the regular version and downloading it as we speak. I just learnt the bass part for the intro of this. How come I didn't know?? Wow, I feel like such a bad FOB fan lol. Ahh well, it is to be corrected. I think the extra verse rocks from the lyrics. ^^ |
My Chemical Romance – Blood Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song. The bit about "I'm such an awful fuck (why thank you)" and "I'm the kind of human wreckage that you love" makes me laff. ^^ |
Paramore – Fences Lyrics | 15 years ago |
One of my favorite Paramore songs. ^^ I love the bass part, I'm gonna learn it soon. Totally love the song topic and the "bouncy" kinda feel. It rocks. ^^ |
Tracy Chapman – Fast Car Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I'd heard this song so many times on the radio and always wanted to know who it was by. Always makes me stop and listen to it, its so emotional and thought-provoking. It's not really my style of music but definitely a beautiful song. I'm so glad I finally found out the title and artist. ^^ |
Nickelback – Animals Lyrics | 15 years ago |
OMG the imagery in this song. I luff it. ^^ It's on my growing list of songs to have sex to about sex as well as Scream by A7x. I luff songs with a storyline and this just makes me crack up. It's a rele sexy song. :-P |
Fall Out Boy – Fame < Infamy Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I actually love this song. My fav line is: "Signing off, I'm alright in bed but I'm better with a pen". It's so fast paced and I think the middle guitar bit sounds like "Hero/Heroine" by Boys Like Girls. Amazing song and great lyrics IMO. ;-) |
Paramore – Here We Go Again Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think its about a relationship from a long time ago, maybe a holiday fling or childhood sweethearts. She's moved on but the partner is still at the back of her mind. She wants to keep in touch but she has mostly moved on. At the end of the song she finally lets go and carries on with her life. |
Fall Out Boy – Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save the Scene and Stop Going to Shows) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love it all! "And it's mind over (you don't) matter" - fav line "I'm falling apart to songs about hips and hearts" "And living's just a waste of death!" This song has great imagery. Gotta luff Pete's lyrics and the spoken bits rock!! I usually don't like spoken bits but it's sooo effective in this song. They rele don't like scenes do they? :-P Anyway, yep FOB rox my sox off! YAY!! :-D Kick ass song maan!! xxx |
Fall Out Boy – Grenade Jumper Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is awesome. I thought HeyChris was the dude Pete was alleged to have had a fight with on the internet either about some of FOBs music or that he messed around with HeyChris' gal or something. Either way, I'm pretty sure it's about the friendship they lost coz I thought he was an old friend of the band but they had a messy court case about something. This song rocks anyway. :-D |
Fall Out Boy – Golden Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I almost always cry when I hear this song. Especially on the second chorus, when the choir join in on the line: "And I saw God cry in the reflection of my enemies", it reminds me of a difficult time one of my friend's had and I just am overwhelmed by emotion every time I hear it. The line about God makes the hairs on my arms stand up but the whole song is filled with so much pain. I think it talks about society's effect on people's mentality and how it is so hard to break away from what is acceptable and become real people who don't treasure material things ("karats"), our lives are "only golden plated", how they appear to other people and the teen hierarchy "the sewage of youth". Golden because life and unimportant things in it are regarded as precious, beautiful and mesmerizing like gold. "Lovers with no time for me" is about feeling dejected and alone "stay away from me", feeling ashamed of yourself for being who you are "pray they don't grow up to be me". It's a very emotional song, I would love to sing this. :-) It always makes me pensive. |
Massive Attack – Teardrop Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is such a beautiful and moving song. I love it so much. This is my interpretation of the lyrics: "Love, love is a verb, Love is a doing word," The act of creating a baby or being in love. "Fearless on my breath." The person is happy to be in love. The gentleness of breath and sensuality. "Gentle impulsion, Shakes me, makes me lighter," The impulses you get when in love and the light-headed feeling you get. "Fearless on my breath." Gentleness again. "Teardrop on the fire," The tears the mother cried for the aborted baby but the pain (or fire) was still there. "Fearless on my breath." Maybe the gentleness of the baby this time. "Nine, night after day," Nine months of pregnancy, the darkness surrounding the aboartion after the initial joy of becoming pregnant. "Black flowers blossom," The darkness that is surrounding the situation and bleakness. "Fearless on my breath." Gentleness of the baby. "Black flowers blossom," Reiterrates the overwhelming darkness. "Fearless on my breath." Gentleness and courage. "Teardrop on the fire, Fearless on my..." The mother's tears again. "Water is my eye, Most faithful mirror," Her tears are showing her what she really believes and how she really feels about the situation. "Fearless on my breath. Teardrop on the fire of a confession," She confesses to herself how sad she is about aborting the baby, or maybe the fact that she is pained so much but can't tell anyone. "Fearless on my breath. Most faithful mirror, Fearless on my breath." Her "mirror" is her realising the truth about how much she is grieved for her gentle baby. "Teardrop on the fire, Fearless on my breath." More tears for the baby. "You're stumbling in the dark... You're stumbling in the dark..." The mother's confusion as she is put to sleep for the abortion, or as she wakes up after it has been done, or maybe the baby's confusion as it is being aborted. |
Kate Nash – Nicest Thing Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I nearly cried when I first heard this. The violin and all of it is so beautiful. I'm convinced I'm having this played at my wedding. Lol. I can understand her longing for this person, it's so moving and honest. Wow. |
Kate Nash – Skeleton Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I've never really understood this song and I realise now that everyone has a different take on it. It's an unusal song and I love every bit of it. Especially the bit at the end about the hammer and smashing the skeleton. It's so great! |
Kate Nash – Shit Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love the bit where she goes "Actually I think I might just have the bottle...to myself". My mum has started singing the chorus a lot and it bugs the hell out of me, but it's oh so catchy and great to sing on the bus! Yes, I've gotten a few weird looks... |
