To me, this song is about a girl with a physical disability. She's talking literally about the skeleton - it's hers - but metaphorically when she talks about letting it go. I see it as a girl who is sometimes so annoyed by this "unwanted attention" that she sometimes imagines ending it - destroying the skeleton and ending her life. And yet, there is an underlying theme of self-appreciation, as this girl realises that she can't let go - her skeleton, her body, is a part of her - it's her friend. |
