you guys are right. this song is about her cousin dying, she found comfort in the deafening silence of the chapel at her boarding school. then one day. she knelt in front of mary and was talking to someone (she mentioned it wasnt God, but her cousin) and she was needing help to deal. this is when "I knelt before some strangers face, I'd never have the courage or belief to trust this place, But I dropped my head, 'cos it felt like lead, And I'm sure I felt your fingers through my hair..." unfortunately shell.g, she was not calling out for God. but yes. she called the silence that became like a blanket the "sound of white" this song means everything i just said. and more to me. |

i was racking my brain trying to figure out this song. i beleive it is possibly a sequel to The Sound of White. the sound of white is about the death of someone close to her. and i beleive this song is again about this person. missing them, hoping they will stay surounding her and look after her. and then with the "your gone" part. i dunno. this is my interperatation |

i might just add the CORRECT lyrics to this song I know you BLANKET your mind So much that I am blind But I see you painted your soul into your GUARD I'm all for believing (I'm all for believing) i cant beleive you mistook these words. it just doesnt make sense. this song makes me think of a relationship i used to have with this person who didnt trust anyone. she was exessively bright and seemed to view the world differently to anyone else. the song makes me feel the way i used to when i would want to console her and make her feel better... if only she could talk to me. |

when missy played this song live at the tivoli(i was there omg awesome) she explained this song was about a man seeking forgiveness... which is self explainitory i guess. its a beautiful song and i love how missy sings songs from a mans perspective as well. it just shows how she treats everyone as equals and is willing to be a bit androginous |

it is definatlly "that you stay surrounding me" and the *somethinbg something* is "your gone, your gone" if you watch live versions of this song it is just much easier to note. also she sings a longer version live. its amazing |
