| Switchfoot – Economy Of Mercy Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I'm an economics major and I really keep this song close to my heart. Nobody needs to be an economist in order to realize the importance of a currency in our veryfay lives and transactions. So here, God's grace is as important as currency in economics. Without currency in economics, the whole concept of economics will fall down because people will lose the power to trade with such ease and flexibility. God's mercy is the same in our lives. It serves as the currency which allows us to carry on with our lives eventhough we know we are sinful beings. It reminds us that we were bought by Christ's death. "You knew my name when the world was made" This is awesome. Imagine the one powerful and awesome God knowing you by name and thinking of you when he made the world just fit for your survival and happiness. Won't that send you to grateful tears? :) |

| Switchfoot – Golden Lyrics | 18 years ago |

"To me, the gold is a metaphor for innocence in redemption, for beauty that you can only get from pain." Whoa, this comment is great. It's true that Switchfoot's obviously talking about being purified by fire (that is, our trials and loneliness) and emerging as one golden child. I loved the part which he reminded everyone of the "freedom in spring" and "Green comes on the frozen ground". It's like breathing hope into my dwindling soul at times when I feel so worthless; its like reminding me that there's still tomorrow, a new time for rebirth, a new opportunity for receiving God's wonderful redemption. |
