| Mac Miller – Dunno Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| This song hit me like Outside did on KIDS. The feeling is indescribable. This hit a cord that I realize later in my life. I think it represent a fear inside us all. We strive to be a badass all the time. But truly we desire a companion, a follower. We don/t expect to find it, rather be given it. But we find that one woman that is a reach for us and "dunno" what to expect. When you realize that she is the same its scary. You see how she may have been putting up a front the same way you have. You recognize the fact that she is just human too and looking for the same adventure you are. Then you realize the possibility of actually finding someone that resembles you the most can be achievable. You tell yourself it will fine. But at the end of the day, the doubt and fear still exists. You just don't know. All you know is this moment, and right now it feels fucking amazing. Ride the wave as long as you can. | |

This song is as basic as it is complex. The song, to me, speaks for all people. It explains how two faced we can, and will be. We grow up being naive and full of joy in life. But as time goes on we learn the cruelty of the world. We hold on to that sense of compassion and inalienable love, but in most cases we have to silence it to cater to the reality of a situation. We don't want to be the little kid we started out as due to obscure pressure, even though in our heart of heart's we never lose it. In this song, the singer is begging the person to be real and honest above all else. "Don't let me see, That other side of you". The "Either way" line shows how inside ourselves we choose to belittle the choice between our "child" self and "product of society" self. This gives us a false self of confidence in our decision. It is as if, since being a child, we are told to be cruel. |

I fully agree with you whistler. I think this song is about being selfless. "I was waiting on a moment But the moment never came All the billion other moments We're just slipping all away I must have been tripping Just ego tripping" He wanted to do something for himself and never had time to do something for someone else. And when what he wanted never happened he realized he had missed out on multiple chances because he was thinking for his own good. When i look at the title of this song it makes me think that he is realizing all this after death. He is at the gates of hell after being judged and seeing the things hes done but he doesn't change. He's still "ego tripping" at the gates of hell. |
