"Have you ever received a phone call (mobile) while you were listen to music, near to a speaker? For example in the car? If yes, you sure know that it makes a weird sound...some kind of a sound interference or something. That's just what happens on "Birthmark" (Adrenaline's track no.8). It starts after Chino says "In spite I will lie..." and before he starts screaming "In spite I'll still lie!". It's between 3:10 and 3:20 in "Birthmark's" running time. Every time I listen to it seems like my mobile phone is ringing... Note: That sound is actually produced by gently rubbing the flat part of your pick on the upper 3 or 4 strings in a fast circular motion. Start at the pickups and slowly move down the strings towards the nut - this causes the pitch of the "interference" sound to drop, and also leads naturally into the next chord in the song. "You could take it in a literal sense of me watching someone turn into a fly and taking them home with me and pulling off their wings and laughing. It spawns from me just being a complete a**hole--and finally realizing that I am an a**hole -- and getting the complete repercussion for it by having my life taken away." - Chino like chino said, its metaphorical, he pulls the wings away (takes advantage ) of this girl (or anyone he has been an asshole to) and pays the reprocussions (if you take it literaly then the repercussion is death, metaphorically it is guilt or his realization of what hes done) basicly its not chino being a sadist or rapist like the one guy said, "I watched you change Into a fly I looked away You were on fire " - basicly he is refering to a girl(or any victim he has been an asshole to): metaphorically chino may see a change in someone and easily have his way, or literaly": its someone who loses control and Chino then has his way with them, maybe a drunken girl like in the video. so that explains "never had words/wings" cuz thats her or some unlucky someone loosing control and that explains the CHANGE going on that chino takes advantage of. He goes on to look at "the cross", metaphorically and literaly: which means he is feeling guilty. "give you the gun": metaphorically: "give you the gun" may just be chino basicaly not even knowing that the girl (or some other victim of Chin's) is going get their revenge, (he will pay the reprocusions) and unknowingly lets them have THEIR way . "blow me away": metaphorically, chino realizes hes been an asshole after looking at the cross (reality,guilt maybe) then he allows for the girl (or any of his victims -the fly) to get their revenge( being exposed for what he has done,poison, gunshot etc) (((------- i say allow cuz he signals it to happen with his fingers in the video and basicaly gives her/him/fly the gun(allows her/him/fly to expose him, get her revenge, whatever))) Litaeraly: it means he gives her(or any other victim) the gun and then gets killed so in the last chorus (after "blow me away") he repeats "I watched a change in you It's like you never had words Now you feel so alive I've watched you change And you feel alive " metaphoricaly :this is just Chino reciting his perception of the victim, after his realization of his own guilt literaly:it may be a DEAD CHINO reciting his perception of the victim, after his realization of his own guilt Best song and video EVER, EXTREMELY underated!!!! |
