The Spill Canvas – Natalie Marie and 1cc Lyrics 17 years ago
in researching both the names natalie and marie, i have found that natalie is latin for birthday and marie is roman for the virgin mary. i find it irnoic that the name symoblizes the creator of jesus, who many find to be our savior, which would inforce the idea of the lyric "without you here, i could not be anywhere." also, without being born, one certainly would not be anywhere.
it seems like he almost sees natalie as a savior, a belief...and when you take that belief from him or convince him its unreal, his reality becomes unbearable for him so he tries to monitor his conscious state through drugs (perhaps the 1cc reference) or even death, because once he is gone, he can be with her, in whatever world he believes her to be in. he believes that if she is gone, thats where he would like to be, gone as well.
while the carbon copy suggestion doesnt seem to make a ton of sense, it could in the sense that a carbon copy is an exact replica of a human or an object, and the fact that he feels like him and natalie marie are of the same molding...it could perhaps make sense....and have a tripple meaning also applying to drugs and to the therapuetic methods used in an asylum since he ponders his sanity.
i am still haivng trouble understanding the wide eyed flutter and the violin, though, and i'm sure any of my ideas could be completley off. this is just what i thought when trying to figure out the song...id be glad to hear what anyone agrees or disagrees with.

Copeland – You Love To Sing Lyrics 18 years ago
I agree iwth Fieri. I think the song is distinguishing between the love for what youre doing, and the love for what youre recieving. Money is a very distinct and likely example of this, being that you love the money but youve lost yourself in recieving it.
"I'm thinking only of my billfold
and how I want to face you with diamonds and gold in my head, in my hand"
seems to be saying im only thinking of what i want, and not of its true value and what it takes of me to get it.

Copeland – No One Really Wins Lyrics 18 years ago
trav1026- thats probably because it really says grace looks back before it starts to leave. i never thought of the song being about homosexuals in a church, but when reading through the lyrics anyone can see how this is a perfect fit for the song.
