What an empowering song. I used this song to get over a breakup with a girl who, ironically, introduced me to Natalie's music. She and I actually went to see Natalie perform two days before the breakup. The song illustrates the deep pain that can be felt from the loss of love but reminds you that you have the power to continue on, find comfort in yourself and base your happiness on you ... not who you're with. |

Doesn't seem to be a lot of hidden meaning here. She feels so close to the one she loves but senses hesitation on his (or her) part. She desperately wants to have 100% trust, 100% love in the relationship but seems to be begging her significant other to allow him or herself to stop putting up that wall. Nicola Hitchcock is a goddess. |
