i love this song and i agree with most of your interpretations, i also think its about getting over depression, although this line annoys me a little bit "nobody understands I'm tryin' hard to breathe now but there's no air in my lungs There’s no one here to talk to" and so does this one "They can't help me ‘Cause no one knows" sort of frustrating cause its deluding people to an extent but apart from that i love the song |

I know this was written years ago by chino69 but its SO TRUE! i think this kind of thing is what the song is partly about. But it also has meaning for me as for basically my whole time in primary school and at the beginning of highschool i was bullied and intimidated, some of it i probably deserved though and also it was hurting me so much that i started doing it to other people which i can never forgive myself for but anyways it got to a point in highschool where i was sitting with this group who i thought were my friends but they always just made me feel like shit and i knew that i didn't belong. But there was this girl who is now my best friend and she was with a different group and she invited me to go over and hang out with them. i struggled with the idea even though the group i was in was hurting me but i eventually switched and now i feel like i am "somewhere i belong" so thats what this song means for me. |

"the end of the worlds in front of me. hard to believe all i see. it comes so close but pulls away to let me stay another day" sounds kind of like it might have something to do with suicide, like as in he was going to kill himself but the feelings pulled away and he stayed and lived on. I have absolutely no idea but thats just what that line is saying for me. I like mest but i don't know a lot about the band themselves so i don't know if suicide has anything to do with it at all. But i do agree that it is talking about climbing obstacles in your life and looking back on them but then also looking onwards at the obstacles that lay ahead. |

I really like your interpretation of the song romantrimberger, you made the song your own and you made it mean something to you and you were able to relate it to your own personal experiences. This particular song is about rape but why should a song have to have a concrete meaning, if you can make it your own then that is a great thing. It can still be about rape but you are feeling the same kind of emotions as the guy in hipv, all you want is to take their pain away. So what if its a different meaning the feelings are the same. I take a different view on it as well as i have 2 very close friends who have been so screwed up during their lives, not because of rape but because of other really bad shit that they have gone through and i will always know that the one thing i want most in the world is to be able to take away that pain. So that is how i relate to the song, through the emotions. It's a very powerful song, makes me cry a lot anyways, hipv are very good at making me cry :P but they're still an awesome band :) |

| ok i know it sounds like hes talking about a girl but he never actually says once that it is a girl, it could be a guy, anyone ever thought of that. But anyhoo assuming that it is a chick i don't necessarily think she had to be his girlfriend or lover or whatever either. She could've just been his close friend. He hates seeing her doing all this shit to herself with the alcohol and sleeping around. I know from experience how fucked up you can get when one of your closest friends is basically throwing their life away and their aint nothing you can do about it. If they were in love but broke up, perhaps he is also feeling responsible for what she is doing to herself because she is relieving the pain of their break up. I love this song, it always picks me up. I agree that it has something to do with a bad relationship or a break up or something like that but I put my own twist to it and for me it means even when everything is stuffed and you're rowing upstream through a creek full of shit (so to speak) you don't give up and you keep on rowing until your arms fall off and even when that happens you keep going, " But we sing If we're going nowhere Yeah we sing If it's not enough" for me the last train home part of the song is an easy way out, "I can't be on the last train home" he doesn't want to take the easy way out of shit creek cause he wants to make it to the other side. I know this meaning is probably wrong but i can relate to it and i think its good when you can make a song mean what you want it to mean, like its meaning isn't set in concrete you can change it suit you. But i can also relate to smsinitaly haha |

I'm not a very religious person so i prefer to agree that the song is about never giving up, it sounds like he is reasurring someone who is losing hope and he is helping them to find their way again and telling them to never give up. Seeing as Anberlin are christian i think the religious meaning is probably more viable but oh well, i'll stick with my meaning because i relate to it in many ways. But heck whatever it means its still a beautiful song :) and Anberlin are an awesome band :) |
