This song means so much more to me now than it ever did...My partner took his life 3 days after I left due to circumstances that gave me no choice. He had burned this song and many others onto CD's and left them on top of our puter. He had in many ways 'screamed his lungs out' to try to get to me....but I didn't get it. I didn't understand how desperate he was. I will never get over it. 'here I go, so dishonestly, leave a note, for you my only one'....Dishonestly, because he knew he was taking away my right to ever try to fix things. He was leaving me to battle the pain he had battled all his life. Because of his shame at leaving this way, because he gave up, and because he left a note instead of voicing the words that would have had me running to him in a second to stop him. To my babe, I love and miss you every single minute of every single day...and I'm so sorry I didn't hear you when you 'tried to get to me'. I will love you for as long as I live and your memory lives on in our son and in my shattered heart... |

| This song is about a volatile relationship. Both know it should end, but love each other far too deeply to make the break. She lashes out and says she hates him out of frustration and hurt he has caused her, and wants him to know that she has had enough. At the same time, she loves him and thinks if he finally realises what he's doing, and he has her at the point of walking out, he'll change – she’s lying but just wants him to change his ways (I found some hate for you just for show). (You found some love for me thinking I’d go) Means he thinks, if he tries to make up for his bad behaviour by showing her more love when she's about to leave and that he’s sorry, that it will stop her going. (Nothing has changed, nothing is right) Is about the same old push/pull, fight - makeup, fight - makeup, he keeps apologising, and acts charming for awhile, but goes back to his same ways eventually. In the end, he tries to be the strong one, (you should be weaker than sending me home) and tells her to go, and after she does, (sleep in heavenly peace) this can mean there is finally an end to the fighting and/or he commits suicide. It's one of those damaging, intense on again/off again relationships . | |
