Hands down my favorite Queen song. "There is spring in the air once again" is perfect: it brings a fresh new season, looking for love, perhaps that lovely girlfriend that you lost. The waltz creates a very happy atmosphere. This is a perfect Queen song--I haven't heard many waltzes with lyrics. Elegant melody, playful lyrics. Love it!! |

Hard to describe the incredible amount of hope that fits into this song. Meeting every year on your anniversary, just in case...wow. Magical. One of my favorite songs ever. |

I will admit that I would skip over this song on the cd, because it reminded me of Titanic, which I equate with the word "corny."
However, upon hearing a live version of this song, and trying VERY hard to erase the movie from my memory, I succeeded, and found the lyrics to be very profound....that is...until the big belt out in the end.
that's still too much--no argument there! |

It's unfortunate that this song is not as well-known as it should. I love this song--especially the brevity of each line in the first stanza. It captures, i think, the bittersweetness in recalling love "here comes the night...here come the memories....down in the foreign fields...not so long ago." just beautiful.
And don't even get me started on the percussion! |
