Dude, if you have listened to the entire CD you'd know that it's an extended metaphor and the story of one person (the cool). Kick Push II is talking about the kid in Kick, Push. Lupe's CD isn't something that you can just isolate and try to pick apart like that. Every song is like a chapter in the book of the life of the character. Lupe is the king of double meaning and this song isn't any different. It's both about skateboarding and huslting. Both interpretations are applicable. Sorry, there is symbolism here. Listen to the song a few more times and learn a few terms about hustling. It becomes quite apparent. |

I don't think this song is about sex at all. "I've been awake for a while now you got me feeling like a child now cause every time I see your bubbly face I get the tingles in a silly place" The 'tingly' feeling she gets in a special place is similar to the giddy or heart fluttering feeling you only experience from someone who just makes you feel special in your own little unique way. "I've been asleep for a while now you tuck me in just like a child now cause every time you hold me in your arms I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth" When she is with this guy she feels like a little girl again. She feels secure in his arms, like no harm can be done to her, and it gives her a protective feeling of warmth. This guy gives her feelings that no one else in the world can do, and she can feel it in her soul. At the end of the song she is saying that wherever he goes is alright because she knows how she feels about him and vice versa and it makes her smile. That's what I get from the song. |

Don't you think some of you guys are being very critical of this song. I mean I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but give the girl a break. She's 18 years old, isn't she entitled to have atleast one song where she gets to be an immature teen age girl that says, "hey your a whore, I got him, and yea I'm gloating about it cuz it feels really good to." I mean is it really that bad as some of you seem to feel? The meaning is pretty basic and the sound of the song is pretty awesome. It may be immature but sure as hell is catchy. |
