The part in french is missing. Lucky you i speak french :) "Je souhaiterais m'immerger dans les profondeurs des mers Et disparaître pour ne plus jamais être vu" It is in fact the translation of the first verse (I wish that I could be in the cellars of the sea and disappear and I'm never to be seen again) I wonder who says that part? It's well pronounced, sounds like a french speaker. Don't have the time to really think about the lyrics. Any idea? |

My opinion: 1) We're just animals, an upgrade of monkeys. But we're not fully developped yet. 2) Love is not a big deal, we just use it not to be alone. So whatever, love is not important, fuck it. 3) Now pretend that everything we've built, everything that opresses us, all those rules are gone. You're free. 4) If nothing was important, i would destroy all those rules to reach freedom, it wouldnt be a big deal. 5) So why wouldnt we do that? Just get rid of everything and live free without anything/anyone to care about. 6) *tricky part, but heres my guess* The fact that it's a "she" would mean there's a relationship with the one who talks. If the one who talks has expressed its feelings about being free and all that, she may be desperate because she thinks he doesnt care about her (?). 7) He realises that living the dream of being free would mean living without her. He doesnt want that so he wants to get out of his dream. |

I heard that this is the only song on PS that is about Tom -singer- and Tim -songwriter- having issues in their friendship. 1) You don't care about me anymore, you're doing all you can so that i get the message (that you don't care and you're sick of me) 2) You're just holding yourself, you don't say what you really think/feel and i want you to, even if it hurts me. I basically want to know whats going on 3) We're talking but the words are meaningless, we're not saying what we think or feel and i can see it in your eyes that you're juste lying to me. You're lying because it's easier not to talk about the issues we're having 4) Again, we're saying things but they are lies and we both know it. If you promess me something, i'll be happy but not for long because i knooow that you don't mean it. And neither do i. 5) I try to help you the way i can but it's not enough. "the speed of life": nice one okay here's my guess: it's about people, maybe a couple (A and B). They're living their life that is so beautiful that it seems fake. They share that happiness. But one -A- of the two doesnt take the time to appreciate all this, to truly see the other one -B- (missing something). There are only a few people who know A and A makes them happy. But still A doesnt fully appreciate it. A is so happy that he/she may have lived all the good things but there's actually one thing that is being missed: taking the time to enjoy what you have and know B. |

Great analysis MLBfreek35 ! A few months ago, Tim (songwriter) said he didnt like religion.. i think it was a hint for that (wonderful) song. ".. looking for the final score": you try to make sense, understand whats going on but can't find out "holy truth": you chose not to believe in the answers religons have to offer "needle.. over soon": well at the end of your life, you may find love but you may also find that you've missed things and too bad, it's over now "leave this town": leave this philosophy of life (believing in a higher force or something?) and you'll feel better "spineless": people who are not strong enough to face life and who are comforted by religion "rush hour buses": hmm hard to understand.. religion -> terrorist attacks?; or those dreamers are pieces of buses (and buses would be life itself?) "dream in emails": i dream of a better world but it will never happen (?) so you better wrap yourself around me so we can face it togeter?? I dont know.. |
