Damien Rice – Elephant Lyrics 18 years ago
One thing Damien Rice does perfectly is tell everything like it really is. he doesn't attempt to appeal to any audiences or the media but sings exactly how he feels. To highlight one of countless examples of this, when he talks about a girl painting a elephant, this may be him simply remembering that this particular girl once drew an elephant, perhaps for him, and that has stuck in his mind as- it would seem- a cold , unsettlingly innocent memory. This clearly has stayed with him as a symbol perhaps of a particularly unpleasant relationship and he doesnt care whether people are interested in that or not, he writes from the heart, which cannot be said for most artists. Another exceptional 'natural writer' as i call them would be David Gray!

David Gray – Nightblindness Lyrics 18 years ago
Seemingly fantastic taste in music there wrineha2. I would say that this song is about how during the night time when one is with a lover, the situation seems much better and is almost unreal whereas when the morning arrives its clear instantly "your bright eyes are what the time is " that reality is upon them, and everything, isnt in fact all well. Gray seems to be unable to hold back on his feelings when the song opens up , and this tune perfectly illustrates how it feels to delude yourself into believing that everthing is fine, and then failing to cope when the real situation is realised.
