I think it's definitely talking about how we tend to believe to be "kings of our own kingdom" but in reality we should all in the end surrender to the real King, that is God... I love the way he (chris) puts it, that he realizes how he's not enough even for himself.. and he's accepting humbleness BTW , I do hear " i know St. Peter WILL call my name" and it makes more sense in the line that although he made many mistakes he recognizes he can achieve forgiveness... a fundamental idea in Christianity |

I think this song can relate to any kind of thing or person we have to say goodbye to and that it is important we keep our mood bright and our hearts too, that's why it mentions the sweet taste. To me, particularly it means to finally realize that I have to let go of someone i've been in love for too many years now and that no matters what happen it's the only way I can move on and continue..gosh! it hurts so much |
