| call me weird, but i've always believed that this song is describing what it feels like to be in a die-hard thrash band (showing my age) playing a kick-ass gig. the death of hair bands and the dawn of a fresher era of metal. read the words again. | |

i suspect this thread is long dead but i reckon this song is about a plant/tree growing up towards the light of the sun. reaching up, sightless, instinctive. as for the lyrics above, i always hear 'reach up to the beam' and i think the first line of the second verse is 'send your roots' just my tuppence worth |
