i totally thought this song was about just moving on with life even when it's shitty. i thought the song was talking about driving while drunk (we suffer mornings most of all = hangovers?). it's saying sometimes it's necessary to do things that seem wrong to others. also, "meet you in an hour at the bar" sort of added to my idea. but now i think i'm totally wrong. i have a recording with those lyrics, but the lyrics other people posted change my mind about the meaning of the song. like all of amanda's songs, it could be applied to many different meanings. beautiful song. |

i think amanda meant the song to be interpreted both literally and symbolically, like most of her songs. she likes to write her songs in a manner that almost anyone can relate to them. that's what i think anyway. this song is absolutely beautiful. it has my favorite amanda-isms in it, the intro with banging piano that is sort of unnerving, but a beautiful chorus that balances it out, not to mention amazing lyrics. love it love it love it. |
