Yeah. definatley best single of 2007...no doubt,amazing song... I guess your right, its just about liking someone whos not intrested in the same values as you are, who doesn't find them as important as you do, maybe 'Guarded thoughts firing off Parting shots Missing lots'.... is the couple having a fight and splitting??maybe..anyone else think this? |

Did some research and Margaret Hammond is a character from a film set in Yorkshire 'This Sporting Life (1963)'. I imagine this is a reference to the film, I have never actually seen it, although this song is one of the best on 'Men's needs....' I may see if I can get a copy. Can anyone shed some light on the character???...' 'The merrie City' is the Wakefield-their hometown- slogan....if you didn't know! |

I realise this version posted was probably an earlier recording...so there are a few lyric changes in the recorded/album version.... changes are in CAPS. 1.
