Alice in Chains – Blood Tears Little Girl Lyrics 18 years ago
The name of the band is Thread. They had a five song demo tape they released that got mislabelled as Alice in Chains rare material. The song 'Blue' is also one of these songs.

Tool – Hooker with a Penis Lyrics 18 years ago
gaodene, the word is hypocritical (not meaning to sound mean or condescending, you were going in the right direction, buddy). But that isthe most important thing about the song. The kid is in all these name-brand 'Generation X' bullshit stuff that's supposedly 'breaking trends' and 'setting new boundaries' Well, got news for you. Vans is still as much a name brand as Abercrombie. Getting a Beastie Boys T is scarcely different from buying some fake surf party advertisement shirt from Hollister. And then the kid has the nerve to tell Maynard that MAYNARD sold out. To say that MAYNARD was sucking up to the man (the man in this case being popular culture). Maynard really did say it best "Before you point that finger you should know that I'm the man. And if I'm the man then you're the man and he's the fuckin man as well so you can point that fuckin finger up your ass." Maynard is saying (once again 'the man' being pop culture) that he IS pop culture, HE starts the trends everyone follows. But so is the kid. And the random guy. In other words, what's popular to one person is different to the next guy. And the next guy. And the next guy. Catch the drift? This ain't about capitalism, or L. Ron Hubbard or some other off-the-wall bullshit. It's one of VERY few Tool songs that's blunt and straightfoward, wasting no time with intricate metaphors.

Blink-182 – Dammit Lyrics 18 years ago
The definition of a sellout: Somebody who accepts a lot of money to go in a completely different direction with their music usually to follow/set a trend. Now, go and listen to Cheshire Cat. Then listen to Blink 182. Tom and Mark evolved, yes but the style and message was ALWAYS the same. Also you can't just not like something because everyone else likes it...it seems like you're 'rebelling' but...you really aren't. Going against the mainstream seems to be one of the bigger trends these days. So in other words you're rejecting one trend just to follow another. If you like it, you like it and if you don't, you don't. But don't go and try to blame it on the fact that the band is a 'sellout' (especially if you don't know what a sellout is), judge them by their music. Look at Jimmy Page (and this is going off on a tangent, I'm sorry). His meddling in the dark arts cost Robert Plant his son, and almost robbed the world of Led Zeppelin. But, due to the fact that the world couldn't get enough of Jimmy Page and Robert Plant together singing and playing guitar, they were able to put aside their differences and play. Now, the world could have judged Jimmy Page as 'satanic' and 'unlistentoable' (Made up word, I know, hush) But guess what happened because people looked past it? Zeppelin 4. Arguably the best CD they put out. Point is, even if Tom is an arrogant overrated ass (which I don't think he is, I just know people do) if he makes good music, he's gonna make more. And people are going to like it. Love it or hate it, it's still an obsession. And judging by the five hundred fifteen comments on this song, there's a lot of people obsessed =D

Misfits – Helena Lyrics 18 years ago

yeah they tottally bit sanatarium on the bridge of the song
graves shamelessly jacked the melody

Alright buddy, Graves didn't 'shamelessly jack' anyone. Metallica were HUGE Misfit fans, it was a tribute not a plaigarism. Now, as for the Newfit/Misfit argument: It's all The Misfits. No one HAS to accept anyone. But, true Fiends stick with them through good AND bad until the end. If you like Danzig better, he has a whole legacy of solo stuff and stuff with Samhain you should check out instead of pissing off everyone over their opinions.
