This band is spectacular and their songs are really well written and have a really good feel about them. This song in particular is a good one. I feel like the song is about a ended relationship. The beginning is talking about how she isn't really the same person ("empty face") and her "soft lies" are just to maybe keep him happy. Followed by the "sympathies" that "go round and round" are the things people say to you when you break up. Like sorry or you'll find another, things of that nature. They make him feel a bit better but he feels alone either way. I'm not really sure about the next parts so if anyone else wants to take a stab be my guest. |

I absolutely love the trumpets. They are so amazing. The first time I heard them I though to myself," Wow those trumpets are otherworldly." When I hear them I just think of a battle being lost then those trumpets rallying the troops and then coming back from tremendous odds and being victorious. |
