i think it's sort of about him being unable to commit to any relationship/take anything seriously in that regard and him wanting to change and mature. i've always seen "drearily bloodletting this bedwetting cosmonaut" as him wanting to rid himself of the melodramatic heart break that was Deja. Drop me a line with a hook and some raw bleeding bait For I am uncaught and still swimming alone in the lake - these 2 lines are him saying he's grown older but is still alone/single and he wants someone to "catch" him Shimmering under a moon made in anger and haste (I was the one who was always repeating it) - this could be "(i am)shimmering, made in anger and haste" which could maybe be like anger and haste always cause him to end relationships and he keeps doing it. Shimmering like a penny out of reach in the subway grating (Shimmering like a coin kept safe away, you never give in to anything) - this could be an outsiders view of him, like "you're always out of reach and never give into any of your emotions" the only thing that sorta doesn't fit is the bridge but it could be interpreted as jesse being left by someone because he couldn't be all these things, like able to be open and show his emotions. idk. just my theory. |
