it's already been said probably dozens of times, but this song is just so powerful. i remember first breaking up with my ex and just listening to this song on repeat and letting it encompass everything i was feeling. it's honestly one of the best songs to really let things go; your emotions, your built-up frustrations, and most importantly that person you love. It doesn't necessarily mean you have to stop loving them anymore, because love can also be best expressed during these silent gestures. "i pray you find the peace you have been longing for." They may not know how much you love them, but at least you can come to terms with yourself. "but i have been warned by those who have passed this way before, and to them i am grateful." -Now how often do we truly heed these warnings? but most of the time we end up realizing for those people who stuck by us, or those that came into our lives at that perfect moment to pick us up. This song not only hopes for the best for that person who has drifted away, but it expresses the joy in having those who you still have. and to make sure you love them always because you never know when this song will be dedicated to them. |

yea, i think he's acknowledging how this relationship has already deteriorated. Yet he continues to press forth through intimacies and other acknowledges of his feelings. "We speak in riddles to deny the past, to love the present, to prepare the future" can suggest that both of these former lovers are dying their faults and mistakes, hence holding onto their pride, and that they were not responsible when their relationship went downhill. Either that or perhaps they are denying that their relationship ever existed. On many occasions embittered lovers will try to acknowledge the insignificance of their broken relationship to move on. To love the present is pretty self-explanatory. Post-breakup, we try to teach ourselves to love where we are now and how much better we are without the other person weighing us down. We prepare ourselves for what awaits, and how much it will be better than our regrettable past. Interesting...cause I've always felt detatched from the world in that same exact way... I agree with just about everyone on the meaning of this song. I think it could either deal with the ending of a relationship aspect, or one friend trying to reassure the other that although he will always stick by him/her (and would give them the world and make them happy however he possibly can), he acknowledges that he has his limitations. He cannot be his/her savior or hero, although he would like to. |

Check out myspace. It's not their account, just a fan runs it. There are some songs, including 143JCM on there as well. Otherwise, if you want to buy their cd, level-plane.com had them when I last checked a few months back. I actually bought one of their cds from them. But this song to me, is one of their best. Although they are a very emotional band, this song just really strikes a chord. As previously said, Justin's seemingly pleading voice is what IMO kills this song. You could definately feel for him; his despair and helplessness. Especially towards the end of the song when he pretty much knows that it's over, but he loves her so much that a part of him still expects her to be there to live out a dying dream. So simple, yet so sad and truthful. Not to mention the instrumentals help illustrate this song, it's so fucking heartfelt. And I'm pretty sure JCM is someone's initials. "I was so dead in your arms" |
