Beautiful song, simply. this one is definitley a tear jerker. To me, its about his lover being in emotional pain and he can't do anything to help her or comfort her and its making him feel depressed too, like RagingAnne suggested. Her depression is causing her to withdraw from everyone and she "learned to detest" everyone that she loved. I also think the last 2 verses are about him going to his father asking for advice and support and comfort, asking him what he can do to help her & what is best for them two. Another great song by Starsailor! James is incredible. |

The first time I heard this song, I thought that he wanted to be with a girl he loved but he'd been denied (because she didn't love him back). But then I heard it many more times and paid attention to the lyrics and now that theory doens't really make sense. Either way, its a great song- all songs by Starsailor are. |
