| Andy Shauf – You Remind Me Lyrics | 14 years ago |
|
Maybe this is personal experience talkin But it seems that his girl left a while ago. He's hanging on to a memory of her. If he's in Love with her memory or her, still -- is unclear. But the song isn't about her failing/leaving/breaking his heart, etc. It would seem the song is about his moving on, even if he's still in pain. Riiiight after "I'm in pain," the tempo picks up slightly with volume and instrumentation. It's obviously positive directly after that line. Take the last line for example too. That could mean he's moving on or stuck on her. |

| Bowling for Soup – Girl All The Bad Guys Want Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| lol sorry its "mad at their dad." They're singing about a metal girl. Mad at your dad = grunge metal. | |
| Space Mtn – Oh Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Seems plain to me. She's furious over an unrequited love. It's not explicit whether its about love never returned or romance that died off without her; but from the sound of the anger and hardcore metal breakdown, I'd say it's more of a breakup song that she wished she had never been inspired to write. | |
| The Weakerthans – Aside Lyrics | 16 years ago |
|
I hate applying half the songs I hear to love. damn it works out well for me, though. won't bother with every line but here's my take: To be "unconsoled. . . lonely. I am so much better than I used to be." speaks for itself. After heartbreak, nothing can make you feel better. For at least a month you're inconsolably shut off from being happy. "Terrified of telephones and shopping mall, and knives, and drowning in the pools of other lives. Rely a bit to heavily on alcohol and irony." You can be terrified of confronting someone who broke you. And you'll be terrified of confronting yourself when you're alone and maybe happen to have a knife around. Anyone who's tried it knows alcohol neeever helps heartbreak feel better, but it IS really ironic how you'll keep on trying it. And to be "armed with every precious failure." Well I know you feel guarded and everconscious of where you think you're a romantic screwup, after heartbreak. |

| The Offspring – Fix You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| Maybe I'm saying too much, but why does it have to be a couple still together? If you've been through a breakup you definitely didn't want, this has a totally different look. It could even be meant for a friend, as a lot of Offspring songs are known to be. | |
| Mccarthy Trenching – Wedding Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| either metaphorically or literally a song about choosing your roads and supposing what could have been. Since not all acoustic folk is sad (see Flight of The Conchords bussssinesss tiiime), it's a very purposely mellow song. It could just be my own experiences influencing me, but this song is resentful as hell. I can't stand thinking about the women and what-ifs in life. | |
| Sum 41 – Handle This Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| man I agree with this idea the most. That shit happen with a long-lost ex of mine, so I see it that way. | |
| Bowling for Soup – I Melt With You Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
It looks like Vicious 09 made the best comment, because it analyzed the song. .which is what this site was intended for. I never saw it Vicious 09's way before, actually. Never thought it was about unrequited love or friendship. But that's interesting. I'd have to say it's either that or simply a love song. I you wanted just one sentence to sum up most of the whole song, I'd say it goes like: You matter more than all the matter of the earth. But "You've seen the difference, and it's getting better all the time" does sound like what Vicious 09 was talking about. Not sure. But this song is proof that Bowling For Soup can rock the shit out on kazoos! |

| Mindless Self Indulgence – Prescription Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Either drug prescription abuse or abuse of the crowd growing more and more hungry for "the bass." Kinda experience that with music I learn easily. One day it's all I can think about during AP exams, lunch, etc., and the next day I'm habituated to it and need more. MSI is my anti-drug. | |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Never Wanted to Dance Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Great thoughts Neon and Kira-chan. But Introverted refers to where people get their inspirational "energy" from. Extroverts are good at vollying conversations because their social "energy" comes from external sources, and introverts get their ideas from turning into their thoughts and then responding. The song might be a mix of Neon and Kira-chan's idea. What if he is saying, 'I don't wanna bother dancing with you, cause my right hand knows exactly what I want" |
|
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Backmask Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| I love this song. Too many Naruto AMV's messing with MSI songs on Youtube, though. | |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Like Shit Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| Quite, Insatiabledick. Sometimes I have to hide my dragon wings and wizard beard. Have to wear a freaking bald cap on my chin just to hide it. Totally sucks. | |
| She Wants Revenge – Tear You Apart Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
Yes. The literal story is about a relationship in which the guy is abusive. Although I think that theme is WAY too over-repeated in movies/ music/ people's heads, here's what I think. . . Advanced literary analysis has a fetish for looking for in depth metaphors that may not even have been intended by the author AT ALL; especially if those crazy ass metaphors are about making bias generalization, sex, and/or phallic symbols. But based on coming from crazy AP English classes, I think this song could be saying that all men in general have a basic violent urge which mixes in with their love. So they are loving at first, but engage in abusive sex sometimes because that's what they do. By the way, I am not sexist against men. In fact, I am a guy. But I was just putting on my AP Eng. glasses and looking at this poem. AP Eng. can make stupid crazy, very eye-rolling metaphoric assumptions about literature. It does teach you to look at literature, and even life beyond face-value, though. |

| Electric Six – Gay Bar Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| kinda doubt ya, Kosk. They say "we're gonna start a war" in like, every song. They're just saying they're not afraid to cause a little turmoil and disagreement. They very well might hope to be making such turmoil by teasing the republican party with this song's music video. Like Abschaum said, it's using the first republican dressed in juxtaposition with every bit about the music video and lyrics to mock it. I love that song. The music and lyrics murder faces, too. | |
| The Thermals – A Pillar of Salt Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Brad Neely on Superdeluxe.com tell the story of Lot's wife being turning into a pillar of Salt. Search "Bible History" at Superdeluxe.com, man. That shit = the shit | |
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Prom Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
lvlindless is fuckin' right. "You won't be missed, so get the whole fuckin thing over with!" Stupid bimbos think it's all about them and their $100 nails and think they're the shit. Crap. If I'm starting to see logic in Jimmy U's lyrics, it must be fuckin' late. XD I feel like Jimmy in Straight to Video's musicvid when his eyes freaky bulge |
|
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Tight Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
Tight = pussy. Just makin' shit up, cause that's all AP English has been teaching us to do, but it could be a chick in a club who has a tight pussy and knows it. She's saying, "all you niggaz in the back come jack me off," even thought "jack off" usually applies to guys, Jimmy U says weird/cool shit all the time. |
|
| Mindless Self Indulgence – Shut Me Up Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Spyke on page 1 in fuckin' right. So is xxHipLike BADASS. I'm too lazy to bother restating what they did, cause Spyke took the shit out of it. | |
| Sum 41 – Pieces Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| All the images of "perfection" from the music video make me wanna puke, though. Ugh. I'm so glad I'm not some 50's "perfect family, jock, Sunday brunch, sweater-vested" kid. So glad I'm not one of the kids in school that pick on you for wearing anything black or "too" dark and has that idea of a "perfect" life. If you like this music video and song, you'd probably love the concept in the movie "Accepted." It's about not being perfect, and then kicking "perfect's" ass. | |
| Sum 41 – Pieces Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I agree with the first people. Especially Jon boy32. Beat me to finding the meaning of it. But damn Ekizzle and Jon boy32 could both be right. It could be about being yourself, even if you're not perfect or more specifically about not being perfect in the eyes of a significant other. But everyone feels this way sometime in life. And if they don't, they've had life way too easy. I don't have to worry about not having food on the table every day or being bombed randomly everyday (like sum 41 saw in the Dominican Republic of the Congo), but I know that everyday there's someone in my own house who tells me I'm not perfect. |
|
| They Might Be Giants – Bastard Wants To Hit Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Um. Sorry guys. I'm just gonna go ahead with my opinion on the song. I mean, I'm a Caucasian, but I'd have to say that this song is about white racism. TMBG may have made the video or might not have any connection to its designers, but at least in the video, the little white guy just started running away from some Spanish dude. And I think he may have cause he was afraid of him for being a hooded Spanish guy. whatever. AP English forces you to try making a meaning up for anything and everything, even if it wasn't intended to have a meaning at all. Don't shoot me. | |
| They Might Be Giants – Damn Good Times Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I'm in AP English in 94% for an A, Fairfax County, VA - and I certainly didn't think as in depth as chadd vz! He has a great imagination paired with great reasoning. I mean . .just look at his comment, and you'll see it supports all of the lyrics flawlessly. | |
| They Might Be Giants – I'm Impressed Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I agree with Sir Larrikin and ThunderBoy's very insightful and thought-provoking points on looking at the lyrics. But in response to Sir Larrikin, I'd probably say that the "torpedo in the vest," 'barking his orders' is a military leader threatening his followers to stay under him. You'd be pretty threatened by a torpedo, and a shiny-badged vest would be a symbol of his being a military leader. | |
| Coverdale and Page – Take A Look At Yourself Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| The chords in this song sound a hell of a lot like those in My Chemical Romance's The Black Parade. I mean, I'm not saying SUM 41 copied, cause they're only a similar few notes in a row, and there are only so many chord progressions to be made - but they do sound alike in both songs. Listen to 'em both and you'll hear it. | |
| Sum 41 – Pull The Curtain Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| Wow. I searched this song just so I could comment on how the last chorus sounds like, "We're All To Blame." But Emotionallyconfused already got to this page, first ^^; | |
| Sum 41 – With Me Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| This sounds like the kinda song I'd ask a DJ to put on for a girl. It's be a great slow/punk song, but you'd get those idiots complaining about stuff like, "oh gooosh. it's punk music." But for those complaining guys, you could ask the DJ to play another one of Sum 41's songs, "Grab the Devil by the Horns and F*** Him Up the A**" XD | |
| Sum 41 – Walking Disaster Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| So I'm not the only one who finds this song emotion evoking! I thought I was turning into a sap, or something. XD But I'm about to enter my senior year of HS, and so it's college for me, in a year. I can kinda relate to this song, too - because of that. This album is kinda saddish-sounding, but it's pretty freakin' awesome. | |
| Sum 41 – Ma Poubelle Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I'm a n00b here, but I found this page, and this is the only way I know how to post lyrics: You are my little woman-lady you are my little trashcan I will hunt for garbage for you I will start with what's in my pants In your eyes I find a little tear I am not another heart You know you are my little flower - with a P***y that's like butter You are my little woman-lady you are my little trashcan I will hunt for garbage for you I will start with what's in my pants |
