| Neutral Milk Hotel – Ghost Lyrics | 15 years ago |

For whatever reason I always heard the line: "how it split the sun" as: "how it split the East Side" Which makes the New York City reference a lot stronger and the picture a lot more vivid (for me.) I've been listening to it again and again, and now I can hear both versions...although I still believe that mine makes more sense. Even if they aren't the correct lyrics, I'm going to stick to them. Oh boy. I do love Mondegreens. |

| Mischief Brew – A Liquor Never Brewed Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
I thought it was a pretty straight-forward song, but then I realized that the title (and probably the concept, too) was taken from a poem by Emily Dickinson. Its called "I taste A liquor never brewed" I taste a liquor never brewed – From Tankards scooped in Pearl – Not all the Frankfort Berries Yield such an Alcohol! Inebriate of air – am I – And Debauchee of Dew – Reeling – thro' endless summer days – From inns of molten Blue – When "Landlords" turn the drunken Bee Out of the Foxglove's door – When Butterflies – renounce their "drams" – I shall but drink the more! Till Seraphs swing their snowy Hats – And Saints – to windows run – To see the Tippler Leaning against the – Sun! |

| The Clash – Julie's Been Working for the Drug Squad Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think that the first line "Its Lucy in the Sky..." is a Beatles reference, from the song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Which also spells out LSD. Just thought I'd point that out. :D |

| Gogol Bordello – Wonderlust King Lyrics | 18 years ago |

Let me be the first to comment on how amazingly INCREDIBLE this song is! This song is about "wanderlust", traveling from place to place, looking for something but not too sure what you're looking for. Its about seeing the world and still craving more. |
