This is one of their best songs, no doubt. Something about this song is incredibly appealing. It doesn't seem to be about a very lighthearted subject, yet the song sounds very laid-back and it's very relaxing for me to listen to. Judging by the lyrics, I'd guess this is about a guy that is in love with a girl but he knows the relationship will not end well, so he wants her to fade away from his mind, even though it is painful. |

Dancing with the devil means 'being very close to dieing or wanting to die' to me. To toy around with life and be very close to the edge, the edge meaning the transition from life to death. So I guess in this song some sort of joint suicide is planned? Another thing I was thinking about is that this guy is schizophrenic. As he is being pretty contradictive in what he is saying. Maybe he is speaking to his inner self, and that inner self is telling him 'I believe in you, I can show you that I can see right through all your empty lies' to which he replies 'I won't stay long, in this world so wrong ' This might be a bit farfetched though. Might be that the guy's heart was broken by a girl and he wants to kill her and himself along with it. |
