It sounds to me like an angry song too. The image of her kind of showing her teeth and saying: hah, I'm 21 now, I'm mature and strong, you've got nothing on me now; kind of contrasting the melody, which makes it so interesting. But then again, it could also be about facing the horrible feeling of getting old, and trying to stay 21 forever. |

| I got a little disappointed when I heard this song, I like Deftones even more than Tool, but this song sounded too much like a lame version of some Tool's song. Kind of like Chino trying to make a toolish song, and Maynard trying to catch up with Deftones, it's just... not good. Even though the bands seem pretty similar. | |

Ok, I'm not sure about this song. I see it in 2 different ways: 1)It's a relationship between two completely different people, they are both so imperfect, and see each other's flaws ->I hate your tattoos you have weak wrists but I'll keep you ->Well it's too bad your married to me They argue a lot, fight all the time ->'Cause theres still blood in your hair and I've got the bruise of the year The thing is, they don't want to admit how much they actually love eachother (again - too bad you married to me, i hate your tattoos but I'll keep you..) In the chorus, he finally lets it out and says how much he's all about some special things about her ->But theres something about here long shady eyes I'm all about her shade tonight and it makes him love the whole of her like he's never loved before. The first line ->I feel soon i will sink into you what do you think in this case, as I see it, refers to falling in love (sinking); not abusing her, as many of you say. 2)This version I like less, but it matches the title perfectly: A relationship where the guy is a sadist. He harasses her, and they have fights.. He points out her flaws and the things he dislikes about her, but keeps her because he likes to torture her. The chorus: ->But theres something about here long shady eyes I'm all about her shade tonight I think in this part he sings about seeing her cry - her tears messed up her mascara, and the mascara left a shade around her eyes - and that made him feel dominant, powerful, fulfilled. Maybe he loves her in some sick, sadistic way. This line makes perfect sense too: ->Well it's too bad your married to me it's too bad she's with him, because she suffers a lot now.. but he has his fun. In this case, the first line could be about abusing her, or maybe falling too deep into this game of torturing her. |

I don't really know who Dolores dedicated it to (you say it's her baby?), but this song can refer to a lover, too. It's when you just KNOW some things that go on in your lives. It's when you know what he/she thinks, when you know what's going to happen, you are so connected to this person, you can feel whatever he feels.. It can also describe mother/child relationship. |

I think it's about sadism :| and masochism Literally, he takes a fly home and plays with it, takes of its wings and tortures it. After all of the torture and suffering, the "fly" feels alive - feels stronger, different, changed. Maybe that's how he treated some girl, or any person, and watched that person become angry, aggressive (on fire) When he says 'i give you the gun, blow me away', i think that he wants that person to have his revenge on him, and give him/her a chance to let the anger out. |

I think this song is about a guy who lost (in some way) the girl he loves forever, therefore, he feels like his town isn't his anymore, nothing makes sense, he wants to go away; so he wants someone, some other girl probably, to take him away (to drive him away, maybe, or that could also be a metaphor). I think that the sentence 'I dressed you in her clothes' is very important - he dressed that girl in the clothes of the girl he loves.. that looks like he is very desperate, and wants her to look like and pretend to be his girl, since he misses her so much. :) |
