Tori Amos – Abnormally Attracted to Sin Lyrics 16 years ago
The sultriness of this song, the layered instrumentation and echoing vocals sinks you deeper into her clutch. I love it!

Tori Amos – Welcome to England Lyrics 16 years ago
Did Tori meet her husband in England? I don't know, but he is British and this could be very well be about an anecdote from their relationship. I hoped she would keep political things out, but she seemed to squeeze that in. Still, it ends on the romantic side, of her being invited to 'bring her own sun'. It is an excellent song, regardless of the interpretation, which there may be plenty of.

Tool – The Patient Lyrics 18 years ago
The song gives me goose bumps, I have lived through something like what's in this song. Necessary background - the album was released in May 2001, In June 2001, I asked my fiancee to marry me. In July 2001, I got very ill, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and spent three weeks in the hospital. I had a lot of depressing thoughts during that time and this song helped me get through. The "tedious path" I chose was to live and fight this disease. My fiancee (wife of five years) was/is the "reward to reap" and "loving embrace to see me through". "I certainly would have walked away" if I did not have all the support and encouragement of my wife and my family. The repetitive, ''I must keep reminding myself of this" is such a call to keep battling through this and that I have this "desire to heal". I have never felt such a personal connection to a song. The "and I still may"'s toward the end followed by the exasperated "gonna wait it out'''s sum up some of the mental tug-of-war in my head, like 'do I really want to live with this?' and 'of course I do, this is really not so bad.' . I AM gonna 'wait it out', and hope there will be a cure.

Tool – Lateralus Lyrics 18 years ago
This must be the most uplifting and positive song Tool ever created. It's a shame that the length of the song limited its airplay.
"Feed my will to feel this moment
Urging me to cross the line
Reaching out to embrace the random
Reaching out to embrace whatever may come'"
is such a powerful lyric and describes and attitude I long to have. See them live and see the visuals and lighting, it's like a celebration.

Rush – Circumstances Lyrics 18 years ago
I saw them perform this song live last week. Neil looked he wasn't enjoying keeping up with all the time signature changes in the song. Needless to say, he played it flawlessly. 'The more that things change'... like the time signatures.
