Soooo beautiful live. I feel like the voice is more powerful than the words. |

What emotionally-wrought vocals.
He uses the deserts in Nevada--huge, dry, dead, empty stretches of land--as a metaphor for how difficult it is to get his love back. |

Scott says, "It’s not about relationships – just dying and leaving something behind."
Pop Cap asks, "Is it about atheism?"
Scott says, "Yeah, but it doesn’t matter so much, you can still believe in that [God] - what matters most is what you do whilst you are alive rather than what you do when you are dead... nothing to be done then!"

Amazing transition into this song. It practically makes my heart jump every time because I love it so much.
I think he's feeling the distance growing. Perhaps they haven't split yet. It's like the transition from fall to winter - life and goodness is fading away, just as what was good in their relationship is floating way from him too fast. He was to cling on but she's just getting further and further away. |

| Sun Kil Moon – Gentle Moon Lyrics

"stars, saturn and moon, glow for those
who cannot get through"
I think it's about looking at the natural world and finding beauty in it that can help us get through our hardest times. That time persists, good things happen, bad things happen, and the most we can do is hold hope that time and nature will be kind to us. |

I think it might be "Brother Sean don't get careless," or "brother sean don't get callous," but that's just a guess.
Love this song...love pretty much every Fleet Foxes song. |

| Sea Wolf – The Cold, the Dark, and the Silence Lyrics

The rhythm in this lyrics of this song is fantastic.
This song makes me think of running a car off a cliff into a lake, with the inhabitants drowning as the car sinks. The cold, dark, and silence are death, and Sea Wolf uses drowning as a metaphor for it. |

| !!! – Bend Over Beethoven Lyrics

It's 1) A play on the song "Roll Over Beethoven" and 2) encouraging experimentation, even if and even because you're frightened of the possible outcome. "Bend over Beethoven" because he's done something naughty, it's spiraled out of control, but it doesn't matter because that's what life is about. |

I adore this song.
"The Queen is walking away with only her stockings on
Waving having forbidden pears and song""

"When my mother died I was very young,
And my father sold me while yet my tongue,
Could scarcely cry weep weep weep weep,
So your chimneys I sweep & in soot I sleep."
