i recently acquired this album and i cant stop listening to it, i tried listening to something else, but i got bored. and, though i love all of broken social scene, this album, for me, beats of you forgot it in people. this and superconnected and major label debut are my favorites and i dont think its disgusting, and i dont care if people hear me listening to it, cause its fucking amazing. |

yeah, this song is wonderful. i am surprised there is only one other comment. i think this song is about a person who has just been though something hard or is currently going through a hard part in their life. they feel like they have seen it all. they are sharing this feeling with somebody and knowing that they feel the same. at that one part it says why would you and then why wouldnt you i think this is saying that they really hurt from what happened or what is happening, but they still enjoy their life and wouldnt want it to end. i really like this song. |

garden state is by far my favorite movie and ive watched it a BUnCh of times. yesterday i was watching it again with my dad and that was the first time i listened to the song in that scene, amazed that i missed it before i made a mental note to find out what it was after the movie was over. i was assuming it was similar to the rest of the soundtrack... it works perfectly with that scene of garden state and that point in the movie. giving the perfect feeling that couldn't have been created any other way. i was simply astounded at this song. it does not wear out. i love it dearly. yay, im so happy |

i agree that this is about being stuck in a small town, or without anyway to get away from home. garden state was a great movie by the way. i agree with laura as well. as we grow older we will become conscious of things that don't actually matter. we will gradually build a fancy room with shelves and shelves of fancy looking plastic china. we will not know it is plastic, we will not even dare risking breaking it. |

for me, this is about not knowing who you are, or who people want you to be. not remembering a time when you were normal or even what normal is anymore. and because you are so disoriented with identity issues you don't taste or feel or care about that stuff. i relate greatly to this song. no drugs |

sure, the song is about drugs. when i first listened to this and actually paid attention i was really wanting to go back in time. and thinking about those 'good times' (my friends and i always said "good times good times" even before hearing this) really hurt. so, the drug reference in my mind was more like getting high off memories. because i would sit around and think about them. it would kill me, but it felt really good. |

for some reason this song reminds me of my friend. the part If you feel discouraged When there's a lack of color here Please don't worry lover It's really bursting at the seams reminds me of someone with low self esteem or someone who doesn't think they are good enough. its like telling them what life has to offer if they would only look from the point of view of someone else. |

wow. this song is so wonderful. ive listened to it sooo many times and i dont know if its going to get old any time soon. i agree with everyone who said it was about needing space, hes telling her why he has been feeling sad... and tells her he needs time alone but wants to stay with her. i absolutely love the par of the song where it says "I'm still afraid to be alone." the way the music stops and its just him singing and its just so intense, i listen to this song on full volume almost every time. |
