| Its funny how art has a way to stay in one's mind. I heard the vevo version a while ago, and while listening to the album version this morning it came to mind the vevo version on youtube is the real song the artist intended. My take is, through their travels to south america, these men found beauty in the natural world. The song has somewhat Andian flavor, the last bit where it sounds like an accordion has a lasting effect. It reminded me of a sound distinct from Bolivia, and the salt of the world could be the salt flats in Bolivia. This band is genius all stemming from Brandon Boyd, one of the greatest artist of my life. Life imitating art, or art imitating life. I rather imitate artists who imitate me. | |

| So many songs made up the 90s I forgot about this one, didn't understand or cared for it back in the days. I am getting older and now this song makes more sense to me. Music to me is felt, the mind takes a lot through life, a lot of information and pictures in the mind. Sometimes when the mind understands what another portrays you get true meaning. This song means to me coming of age, a man getting old and understanding that life goes fast and what once was a good thought starts to get old and beat up and the person you once thought you were is changing. But no matter, you move forward with your life looking for any positive in a world full of negatives. With one headlight, meaning with whatever you have, meaning multiple things, could mean the light of young has died and now you are stuck with one light as you are old or that you could live knowing your imagination was flawed of life. | Growing up and living the the suburbs all my life I can really relate to this song. Kids screaming reminds me of my youth, how much fun we had as kids in recess. I remember life was not about friends but of letting out your young energy. Regardless of race, all the kids loved each other because it comes natural to humans. What changes in time is what we created as we age, its normal to hate and to be desperate and lonely as you age because your mind is matured and understands that death is near and time, the time we have goes faster each day. Finally in a perfect world every man would have a child to leave behind before they die but quickly men understand that the chance is greater that they die alone with nothing but pain as their friend, and as such, they must learn to love and cope with it, some find this young and live with it all their lives others find love and never understand what I'm saying. But reality is, all men matter as do women, no man deserves to die alone as such we should all love each other as we once did when we were young and kick and scream together so our old bodies forget that death is near. I've heard this song since ACLOTM, came out, and repeatedly for almost a million times. I never get sick of it, its one of my all time favorite songs. So, my interpretation is the following, first let me say that Bradon Boyd is a genius, and his writing and thoughts are far vast his years, especially in his early days. This song has special meaning to any guy that see's a girl he really likes. That feeling can lead to sex, and that is what part of this song is about, but to me its more about finding a women that blooms in technicolor and a party where the participants are black and white. And a man, should thank that person for being that kind of girl. |

Guys, ITS ABOUT POKER!!! so much of the lyrics is referring to bluffing. Which Means you dont have a good hand in poker. Ignorance is bliss and the the actual use of bluff in the song gave it away. and specifically Take the lie to the grave That's what an old friend told me Look what it did for him this ^^^ implies that his friend bet with nothing and won and telling the listener to take your bluff to your grave. But I have an arguement. Like others have said 3s and 7s is the most come upon number in numerics. So why not in poker??? althou 3s and 7s are a shitty hand persay. I for a fact dont believe its bad, its a lucky hand when you get it. I came here because ive been playing poker alot lately and i loved this song. And it came to me in my mind one day. I drew 3 and 7 in texas holdem, and I was like this is just like that QOTSA song, lol of coarse I FOLDED, before the flop, and to my surprise the 5 cards had two 7s and a 3, So today just recently, I went all in with 3 and 7 on the draw and what do you know, Out of 5 cards I got 3 7s and 3 3s, Made my full house but shit I had a even better hand if that hand existed in poker. So what I am trying to say is 3s and 7s is actually a lucky hand. IMO anything with a 7 can win in texas holdem. |

| I just started listening to this song, Ive hurd it a good 10x now since I first hurd it 3 days ago. To me, this song is about Heaven Or Hell, Good or Bad, Ying and Yang, and the decision you make. I think the piper is a refrence to either the Devil or satan, and the stairway to heaven is heaven, I dont really understand what the woman is. But yea, this is a good song. But its filled with holes, after looking at the whole reverse song thing, Its what I thought to, since it says on the song, that something has 2 meanings.
