I don't listen to DLD as much anymore, but they're still amazing, and yeah it does seem to be for someone thats passed on, but at the same time I can't help but understand how some of you think its some break up song, etc. It inevitably reminds me of my ex because he still sings this song to me, even after its been two years. For me, it kind of reminds me of my friend. He reminds me of Elliott kinda. He's very quiet, shy, somewhat held back and extremely intelligent and has this awkward but beautiful smile like elliott's and he's also involved with drugs on and off..but yeah. He's with this girl..thats quite different from him, "I'd say you make a perfect Angel in the snow All crushed out on the way you are Better stop before it goes too far" I think he adores the girl and she's perhaps a little disfunctional (like the girl my friend likes) or maybe he's saying that she shouldn't end up liking him too much. "Sometimes I feel like only a cold still life That fell down here to lay beside you" I think that sometimes things are just I guess.. a routine and she's just, well there's more "life" in her and idk, I can't explain, he's just in this awkward situation/stage. "Don't you know that I love you?" but in the end, whether he consciouslly or unconsciouslly knows it, he loves her...perhaps. idk. whatever the song means, it's just. amazing. |

| It's really fitting for my situation right now. My bestfriend is doing drugs, and the line "sometimes its all I feel up to now, but its not worth it to you, cause you gotta get high somehow" really hits me hard. It's like how I want to just be with her and chill, but thats not really what she wants to do anymore. "And I feel pretty now, pretty enough for you, I felt so ugly before, I didn't know what to do." Then that signifies (for me) how, I tried what she's been doing, and it felt, alright, I felt like I was with her again, but I just didn't want to have to do that all the time just to "be with her." The song is just, amazing. Elliott was/is an incredible person. | |

For me this song is about someone that I guess, loves or cares about somebody, but just doesn't know how to love that person back, and is extremely grateful, but I think like somebody mentioned, doesn't know how to thank them. "I hope that I will never let you down," well, that statement is...I guess, obvious, but also for me its..the person hoping that the other person can wait long enough for them till they can be who they want that person to be, idk. Hard to explain.. but it's a great song. |
