| My Chemical Romance – The Ghost of You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This song, if you've watched the music video, showed clips of what I believe was re-enactments of the invasion of Normandy... Operation Overlord. When I saw it the first couple of times, I thought "Wow, this looks pretty awesome.", but after watching it a few times more, I began to think of my grandparents who were in the navy, and my girlfriend who I cherish so much, and that's when it really hit me... If they had died in something like this... I would never be here. Then I started to cry... if they had died, I wouldn't be here to live, to love her, to breathe with her, to know a world more peaceful than it was before. Now whenever I see a war veteran from World War II, I want so badly to walk up to them, and to tell them how much I appreciate everything that they've done and given up, so that we can be free. "I can't always just forget her But she could try" It sounds like someone, a ghost maybe, thinking of how he just can't forget her if she died, but if he did, then she could certainly try to put him behind her. He argues with himself about if she never came home "At the end of the world Or the last thing I see You are Never coming home" could he? should he move on? "Could I? Should I?" Her smiles, the things she never told him, how they will haunt his living memories of her. "And all the things that you never ever told me And all the smiles that are ever gonna haunt me" Then all of a sudden, she does die and leave him alone. I remember now At the top of my lungs in my arms she dies She dies" In the end he falls down into a deep depression. "If I fall... If I fall... Down" That's just my idea though... |
