shes looking life from a positive side in this song... talking about going out into the real world 'its all ahead of you', 'its just the beginning', 'here comes the world' and how that experience is 'beautifully mysterious' and she says thankyou. maybe thankyou for being alive after all people who are alive have a 'light in their eyes' metaphorically...apposed to someone who isnt alive |

if i were to list the stones tracks i know without having much time to think, this would be up there. i wouldnt say their 'hits' were overrated but songs like this dont get the appreciation they deserve |

ive seen this live, i went wild when it came on. that weekend i saw snowpatrol, muse, keane, fratellis and so on. this performance blowed me away; nothing better than the live performance by the almighty richards... not bad for an old guy is he?! :p true legend |

it annoys me that album songs dont get the credit they deserve, especially this album. voodoo lounge was their biggest and best tour and i dont know if it still holds the record but not many other bands could tour and beat that. this is a brilliant song!! |

black. this to me (among many) represents something being cold/motionless: like someone having a 'black heart' for example. as it's names 'black eyed' it could mean he's looking at the world through cold, motionless eyes...negativity almost. this could be because of others perception of his sexuality or because of the past; 'broken home', 'i was never...' (past tense) thats one conclusion that i came too!? |
