At the end, he sings: I don't think you'll ever know How hard it was to let that go Yeah, I guess I lost control But I never will again |

| The Republic of Wolves – Greek Fire Lyrics | 15 years ago |
| I KNEW I heard something about pitch and resin but I couldn't figure out what was being sung. I just posted the lyrics that were in the lyric booklet. Thanks for the help! | |
| The Republic of Wolves – Sea Smoke (Demo) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
|
And I'd been too long in a polished wooden tomb Should've left some space for you But I never got my fill of tempting fate So I sold my spine to the devil-handed dusk |

| The Republic of Wolves – Oarsmen Lyrics | 15 years ago |

The lyrics according to the music video on the simple stereo youtube channel: I woke up sweating on the moaning mount of olives My black dove penance weighing down my feather feet Woven into my skin, the covenants I'd broken My granite heart will not forget what it once was. A coffer full of your love I couldn't bear it. I don't believe I ever had a choice When the sun came up and my eyes were struck I don't believe I could've changed my mind In the dead end heat of that withered beach With my grave stone teeth and your seven shades of grief We were unleavened earth before the first unsettled word fell They drew the devil's iris in between your brows Accursed breath that left our bodies when the day broke Who built that weary wooden cabinet for your faith? All these doors I see mean nothing to me. I don't believe I ever had a choice When we lost our sight to the teething night I don't believe I could've changed my mind When the seeds were sown and then left alone How could I have known I was never on my own? Oh God, I feel like every saintly fire was my fault. That I got crossed off of the wall and my fingers all bloodied and torn and it's just a lie, a poor excuse for all the fumes that I spit out back when I was young, and god damn the truth, I was unused, an empty glass, an oarsman and no one knew my name. I am not welcome in this house I built. |

This is what I hear, but some of them don't really make sense so I'm probably a lot more off target than you are. woven into my skin rather than woke up into my granite heart rather than crumbling heart a coffer full of your love We were ? earth before the first unsettle ? fell They drew the Devils out of ? between your brow I also don't hear 'and the savage inside of me' but I can't figure out what it is. It sounds like 'seven shades of ?' but I don't know. I wish they'd post lyrics. :( |

| The Dear Hunter – The Poison Woman Lyrics | 16 years ago |
| 'Habit sustains her viciousness' - viciousness sounds like wickedness to me. | |
| A Love Like Pi – Innocent Man Lyrics | 17 years ago |
|
"In the end, when the fire comes burning up the souls we spend Is there words? Would we have paid?" I think the 'Is there words...' part sounds more like: "Is it worth what we have paid?" which makes more sense to me because they're talking of spending souls and they're questioning if their actions would be worth it in the end. |

| A Love Like Pi – A Merry Cain Lyrics | 17 years ago |

I'm pretty sure the line 'I'll drive through them majesty in their vain' is 'I'll drive through the majesty in their veins' and 'Drowning in the ember race of grain' is 'Drowning in the amber waves of grain.' Both reference the song America the Beautiful which is probably why the song is titled what it is. I love this song, especially the use of the violins and trumpet. |

| A Love Like Pi – My Body Lyrics | 17 years ago |
| One of my favorite songs from the album. | |
| Sleeping At Last – Careful Hands Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This is the first song I heard from Sleeping At Last and still remains a favorite. It's absolutely gorgeous. The only correction I have is from this line: We'll divide the prisoner From the prisoner. The second 'prisoner' should be 'pioneer.' |

| A Fine Frenzy – Rangers Lyrics | 18 years ago |
| I think that "It comes and goes and is lost" should be "The crumbs are gone and the way is lost." Like the bread crumbs in Hansel and Gretel? It would fit considering the context of the song and some of the references to fairytales; ie. "Poison apple", etc. | |
