| Flyleaf – Something I Can Never Have (NIN cover) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I actually think that this song might be about self-harm and depression... I think that just because of these lines though: "Grey would be the colour, if I had a heart" -Shows that the singer feels nothing... empty... grey "You make this all go away and I'm starting to scare myself" The self harm makes everything else go away, but it scares you because you're worried it's taking control or something along those lines. "I'm down to just one thing" It's the only way you can deal with it, to self-harm. "In this place it seems like such a shame Though it all looks different now I know it's still the same" How after you self-harm you might look at what you've done in a different light and see how bad it is. "Every where I look you're all I see Just a fading reminder, of who I used to be" And after you stop self-harming, you might feel like all you and everyone else sees are the scars. The fading reminders are scars that show how you used to be. Well. That's what I think. |

Hmm... I don't think it's about a relationship! (But I agree with the relationship with family and friends) It could be about depression (which is a bit unexpcected from Paramore... but you never know!) and how she doesn't want to be seen incorrectly (for example, just a miserable person or an emo). I think the first verse is about saying something very emotional and dramatic ("If my heart stops beating, it won't hurt this much"), but not wanting what she says to be taken the wrong way "Please don't get me wrong, Because I'll never let this go" - Once she's opened up about her feelings, don't judge her, and don't worry about her, because she won't ever kill herself, or quit the band (let this go) "But I can't find the words to tell you I don't want to be alone" She feels like she can't talk about her problems with her family and friends "But now I feel like I don't know you" Kind of self-explanatory! Then the second verse is about being fed up of pretending she's okay, and being fed up of everyone else pretending that everything is okay. She's fed up of pretending that she's okay. So... that's my idea. Feedback, anyone? |

I love this song... I'm annoyed I got RIOT! without the bonus tracks... but oh well! I think the meaning's kind of obvious... it's about loving someone but not WANTING to love them |

I love this song! It's so ironic, the way it's so poppy and upbeat, but it's about drugs etc. It's also v. ironic that it's mixed in with peter pan influences. And the irony makes me love it even more! :) |

| My Chemical Romance – The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You Lyrics | 18 years ago |

I think the song is going with the concept of the album, So I think it's from the point of view of a guy who is dead, looking down on a girl he loves, but the girl is planning on killing herself. Well... that's my idea, anyway. |

At first I thought this song was just about insomnia and night terrors, but I'm beginning to think it's about the patient being ready to die too... but I'm not sure. "How could you cry for me? 'cause I don't feel bad about it" - people would grieve for the patient, but he's ready to die. "So shut your eyes Kiss me goodbye" - So just let it go, he's chosen to let go, so you have to let him go.. But I think I am probably wrong... |

First of all, I have to say that I absolutley LOVE this song! As to the meaning; I think it's about Gerard's alcoholism and depression... and how people reacted... "Did you come to stare, or wash away the blood" - Possibly saying 'Are people going to actually help him, or will they judge him?' "From the lights to the pavement" - Saying how when he was onstage and drunk, it seemed okay, but when he came off the stage (back to the real world - the 'pavement') reality hit him. "From the van to the floor" - Could be a reference to that time when he was drunk and fell on the floor near a van (seems a bit obvious, but you never know!) "From the earth to the morgue" - Could be saying that he realises what the alcohol is doing to him. "Well tonight, will it ever come? Spend the rest of our days rocking out, just for the day" - I think this could be talking about insomnia ('will it ever come'). And how everything can feel so good when you're with people and having fun, getting drunk, but the moment you're on your own, unable to sleep, you feel awful. "All fall down, Well after our own" - I think that means that no-one's perfect, and people might let you down? Or how he felt he failed people? I'm not that sure about any of it, really. That's just what I think! Any other ideas? |
