I beg to differ with amatory. I think this song was dedicated to her father who couldn't respect amanda's sexuality. half jill and half jack, like most of her songs, relates to a lot of things: sex changes, transvestites, and sexuality. It clearly describes the mental guilt and anxiety that most people have when they question themselves as an individual. personally, i don't see how this song could represent jill- her mother and jack- her father. |

I would agree that this is about america except when she says... "I am eleven feet/ okay eight/ six foot three" I mean, the only way to relate that to america is to say that americans love entertainment...they kind of stand by it culturally. but living statues never crossed my mind under the category of "american entertainment" |
