this song is absolutely amazing but theres a correction.....the line is "i wish i was dead and you were BREATHING" not "grieving" it changes the whole meaning |

this is definitely one of my favorite dave songs...it's pure brilliance....i love the bittersweet feel to it (lyrics and melody) it amazes me because it's one thing to write lyrics that are bittersweet but writing that kind of melody thats so happy and sad at the same time blows my mind!
i love the lines "wake up naked drinking coffee, making plans to change the world, while the world is changing us"
to me, that means that they thought they could change and conquer the world, so to speak, but in the process it was the other way around and the world changed and conquered them |

i dont know what dave wrote it about but my personal interpretation is someone having to take a long leave and promising that they'll be back and everything will be as it once was even if it's hard for the time-being |

yep...sums it up....and i agree with deathbear that it definitely does seem like many christian songs but nonchristian artists are better than christian songs by christian artists! i guess thats because these kinds of songs are less in-your-face and more creative about delivering a point without just coming out and saying it. |
