| Flogging Molly – Drunken Lullabies Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
This could have been entitled: "Ireland's factions have been at war for years upon years and so little has changed and everything ends up the same so let's just stop and get along and have a pint and sing ourselves to sleep in a beer soaked haze" The song decries the Irish wars pleading that we all end up drinking and singing ourselves to sleep... so let's stop with the killing, eh? FYI... Gelignite = "Unionist/Loyalist Protestant paramilitary forces also made use of Gelignite, most notably in a series of bombings of water and electrical utility substations occurring throughout Belfast in April of 1969." |

| Flogging Molly – If I Ever Leave This World Alive Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
It's a reassuring love song from a man reckless in both life and love. 'I am who I am and I may not make all the right decisions... if any... but wherever my choices in life land me... I still love you and will always be here for you. To death and beyond.' Such a great song. |

| One Irish Rover is dead on. This isn't as much anti-Bush as it is anti-war. | |
| Flogging Molly – Within a Mile of Home Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
I think this is a fara more upbeat song carrying the same message as "The Son Never Shines on Closed Doors". It's about Dave's anguish of having been gone from Ireland for so long. When saying: "Don't turn your back on me Don't ever let me down"... It could be him talking to his home/homeland/family?... or his home/homeland/family? talking to him. Either way, all is forgiven as a return nears... "Within a mile of home" |

| Flogging Molly – The Son Never Shines (On Closed Doors) Lyrics | 18 years ago |

It was about him taking many years to finally go back home to Ireland. He said his mother didn't even recognize him at first. He was so happy to see her, but was so sad he'd let so much life and time pass between visits to see her. See the DVD, however much of a Flogging Molly fan you are... the DVD will multiply it times 100. An amazing look into the heart, mind and soul of Dave King. |

| If I knew then what I know now ... I'd be a ... "One-Man Wrecking Machine", the song says! | |
| Guster – What You Wish For Lyrics | 18 years ago |
|
"Once had this dream... crashed down in AWE!" Not all... not Oz. Awe. I love this song... and was always kind of worried it was about an abusive relationship. Keeping curtains closed alleges maintaining a positive image on the outside when there's a far more negative reality. Like so many Guster songs the magnificence of the harmonies, beats and lyrics kind of hides a song that's not all that cheerful. |

| Guster – Two at a Time Lyrics | 18 years ago |

This was written as a jab at people who think Guster is a Christian band. They're religious, yes... but Christian? No. I don't say this with any negativity... just that people implied they are something they're not. They did 'Two At A Time' to kind of play off all that. |
